This inn is in prime location, few minutes from UConn campus. The house was first built in 1734. The rooms are small, but sufficient for overnight stay. Self served breakfast in the first floor lounge with coffee, juice boxes, yogurt, pastries, cereal, milk, fruits. Plenty of parking. Helpful and welcomed stuff. The inn includes a restaurant (tavern) with very simple but inviting setting.

Staff were nice, the place was clean and cute. We booked this last minute when we got to the first place we booked and realized we couldn’t stay so it was a relief to find this at the last minute. We ate dinner in the attached restaurant and it was good. Close to UConn.

6 room guest house very close to UConn campus. House is very old I suppose historic with original uneven floors. Bathroom was nicely updated but small. Hosts were very nice. May stay again due to location. Wish there was a sidewalk or walking path along Storrs Rd.

solo stay was just what I needed

The room was very comfortable and clean. The outside by the road was a bit run down and so I went passed it because I was looking for something more presentable just like I saw on line

It was a nice and comfortable stay. There was breakfast included with our stay, yet in the morning, everything was closed and no signs as to when or why. Other than this, it was a lovely place to stay. Thank you.

Property is charming and exactly what I expected. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms are clean. Huge drawback if you want to sleep well is that the thermostat is in the hallway and you should be prepared to not sleep because the rooms are like hot boxes in a sweat shop.

Perfect Spring Hill Inn

Quaint and quiet for our evening check in. Staff made everything easy by texting a code to a lock box with key, easy to find with instructions in the text. I was very pleased with how easy and hassle free everything was. Very clean, comfortable, crisp sheet bed. Had a great nights sleep and we were off, keys on the dresser early next morning. Wish we were staying longer, the grounds were beautiful early that morning!

Janaki, our hostess, was very accommodating. She met us at the door and escorted us to our room. She even carried my partner's suitcase for her. She even returned a few minutes later to check on our comfort, as regards the temperature. We both slept quite well. The beds were firm, but not "rock hard". The bedding was perfect, considering the outside temps were in the high 20's. Next morning, we had choices of yogurts (sugar-free, which is rare), pumpkin muffins, coffee/tea, cereal, fresh fruit and a few other goodies down in the "common lounge", where we met 2 couples from Minnesota, who were in CT for the Nutmeg Classic (a Women's Ice Hockey tournament, being hosted by UConn). Their daughters were playing for one of the schools. All-in-all, a very nice experience and a great place to stay!

This property was very convenient. Easy self check in and check out. Very Clean. Not sure I would “vacation” here. Somewhat bare bones. That said, it was perfect for a one night stop over. I would recommend that the heat be turned up. Although I like sleeping in cool weather with covers, 60 degrees for a late January night in an old building was a bit too cool!

Ok place for a night

It is a self check in with lock boxes. That worked fine. The room was spacious and clean, but it got very cold overnight! It felt like there was no heat. There didn’t seem to be any way to adjust anything. Bed was comfortable and it was quiet.

Feedback: Spring Hill Inn My husband and I were looking forward to our evening at the Inn- a date night after the UConn basketball game. The restaurant was great for dinner, but when we returned to room number 3 after the game, it was so cold, and the quilt was inadequate for keeping us warm. In the middle of the night, my husband went out to the hallway to try and find a thermostat. He found one in the hall which allowed us a little more heat for only 45 minutes. Honesty, we were so uncomfortable that we left early. This leads me to the final piece of feedback. We tried to get some coffee from the breakfast area on the first floor, but there were no lights that we could turn on to see how to work the coffee machine. Maybe they were on some kind of timer, but again it was inadequate and really uncomfortable. Because there was staff person on-site, we had no one to speak to about remedying our situation.

My stay was in the winter. The inn was quaint and adequate overall for a one night stay, but the walls were thin and you could hear the guests in hall/ rooms . The bed was very comfortable, and the bedding / towels were clean . No rug so the floor was super cold . It was freezing on the 2nd floor where the rooms were, and the temp was 60 . At night before bed, I had to ask to have the temp raised but they adjusted it to only 65. In the morning , when I asked again because it was freezing, they finally raised it to 70, saying they didn’t want to over heat the guests upstairs . I was absolutely freezing, couldn’t wait to get in my car to warm up !

This is a nice old inn. The highlights of our room were the excellent bedding inclluding high-quality sheets, and a nicely done new shower. The downside was that we never saw a single person – guest or staff. It seems that this is a self-serve inn, from retrieving your key from a lockbox to brewing your own coffee in the morning. This turned out not to be a huge problem, but it did seem strange to have no human contact.
