Sunset Shores - Ocean Front Family Retreat HOT TUB
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful, spacious home. We watched bald eagles out the big picture windows every morning and sunsets from the beach every evening. The kids loved the game room. My teenagers beat me in ping pong and my wife beat me in pool, but my 90’s video game skills put everyone to shame on the vintage Mortal Kombat arcade. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend. "
"Great stay for the price! Old beach smell, but property has been updated with newer flooring, paint, furniture and bathroom is nice. We rented cabin 12, it is the last on one in the row. The cabins are out by the road and then a nice paved road (pretty short walk) and the main hotel is a short walk to the beach. The pillows weren’t bad and the bed was very comfortable. The windows were very old with a piece missing from the double pane that didn’t affect keeping the room warm. You get the feeling they are steadily working at improving the property. Larger size of the dorm size fridge and a microwave in the room. Pet friendly options. We went to the mermaid museum and this is an easy place to stay close by. "
"Clean room, friendly staff workers. Good communication. The upper hot tub needing cleaning, and sparse kitchen utensils and dishes. Cooking pans need replacing.
Close to beach and quiet area."
"There is no pool here, for the last night of my stay i paid online when I went down to the office they told me that Expedia has not been paying them for the guests that paid online and I would have to pay them directly if I wanted to stay. I explained that I would not be able to do that as I had already paid Expedia for the stay. He told me in this case they would make an exception but only for this one time. Why aren't they getting paid Expedia? I will say to anyone wanting to book here to please select the pay at the property option. Otherwise the reservation will be cancelled by the property. Do better Expedia! "
Gorgeous 4-bedroom house in peaceful Ocean Park perfect for families
6/10 Okay
"House was decent size. Had a game room that the kids enjoyed but bring lots of quarters! Also has candy vending machine. Most of the rooms were clean. We opened the sofa bed in the 1st bedroom and was full of rat poop. Also behind living room sofa but there was rat bait. There were no curtains in the living room which sucked during the day when the sun was out because you could see the tv and the sun was in your eyes. There is no regular heat in the house, they have electric heaters in every room but you can only have 1 or 2 on at a time or it trips a circuit breaker. The circuit breaker is in the game room. One night my daughter heard a noise about midnight and got up because she thought it was my granddaughter going thru cupboards and the next thing she knew was the owner opened the door from the game room to the kitchen and apologized for making noise he needed to reset a circuit breaker scared the living crap out of her. So made us wonder if they went in the house while we were gone. Then we bought steaks to BBQ on the grill but the grill was falling apart so we couldn’t use it. So we ended up air frying our steaks. The house is pet friendly but we left ours at home with a sitter. Glad we did. They had a mean little Dachshund. They night before we left my husband was loading things in the back of our truck and the dog came up barking at him and then bit him twice on the back of the leg. So we chased it off. "
