The hotel is elegant and conveniently located almost exactly at a bus stop for the number 1 Wiesbaden bus. Shopping is convenient as there is a Penny Supermarket and a late open Spaeti about a block away. There is an elevator but unfortunately the nice inner hof closes no later than 10 p.m. We were there during exceptionally warm weather in a room facing west that was uncomfortably warm until the sun set. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Hotel de “Farce” is a more apt moniker.
Stay away from this disaster of a hotel; ancient furnishings, decor, and horrible location. Zero available parking within a kilometre of the hotel and they actually expect customers to park in a casino parkade and then walk to the hotel; maybe ok on a nice day; but I arrived after dark, with temperatures near 0 Celsius, and freezing rain falling. For an older age person; it is not acceptable to say park a kilometre away and walk in the dark and freezing rain while carrying heavy suitcases. The callousness and utter disregard of the hotel staff to demand this of their supposed “guests” is unacceptable and narcissistic of the staff and this hotel. Hotels cannot assume that all guests are young and fit, there was zero concern for the mobility and well being of guests with regard to parking. The furnishings and decor are like a nightmare set in the 1700’s; also very noisy…elevator was old and worn, heard doors opening and closing all night in the hallways…no modern conveniences whatsoever…so no good rest and no relaxation at this hotel at all. If your only choice is Hotel de France; do yourself a favour and instead choose to sleep in your car, a culvert, or find a local cave outside of town; you will be happier, better rested in the morning compared to staying at this hotel and dealing with their arrogant, disrespectful staff.

This was a solo stay. Check in was good. Staff friendly and throughout my stay very available and helpful. The single room was adequate, comfortable. Bathroom was newer & good. Location is great, lots of restaurants and bars in the area, 10 minute walk to pedestrian zone. I did not avail of the hotel restaurant services.

Clean and decent hotel but noisy and no AC
Hotel is located very near to the shopping area. Lots of restaurants nearby. Old hotel with a tiny elevator for three people each time. No AC which was shocking as I always assumed it was a given under hotel facilities. Along the main road and pubs so noise was a big thing (no wonder they gave ear plugs in the room).

Comfy, Great Location
Many good restaurants are within a short walk of the hotel, which is located on a very upscale street in Wiesbaden.The staff all are fluent in English and very helpful. The room faced the street with a charming bay window outside of which was a tree giving the feeling of privacy. The bed and bedding were comfortable; bathroom well equipped with toiletries and towels. WIFI worked well but TV functioning is odd and tedious, but worked well once connected.

Hotel only deserves Two stars
Hotel manager did not speak any English. The room we were given was a joke. Definitely not 4 star. The double bed was against the wall so you could not get out. Dark and dingy. After a lot of complaining we were changed to a slightly better room. It had no air con and when you opened the window the noise from the traffic was horrendous. We were also next to a small lift which was very noisy in the early morning. The hotel needed a complete revamp. The pictures of the garden, staircase and rooms were nothing like the Internet pictures. The bathroom was so small you had your knees against the wall when on the toilet and had to squeeze into the shower. The TV needed a computer technician to work as it was such an antiquated system. Four star is a joke this should be re-classified to a two star. One of the most disappointing hotels we have stayed in on hotels.com. We would have liked a refund or to book somewhere else. Unfortunately we paid up front so would have lost money. Feel that hotels.com should look at some form of compensation. All other hotels booked on this trip have been superb. Very disappointed with this hotel.

We spent 10 days in Weisbaden to spend time with some old friends that were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. We had such a good time visiting a town that we lived in 40 years ago. We will be back in the spring and back at the Hotel de France! Thank you again for your contribution to a wonderful trip.

You better not make a mistake in your reservation!
This is a nice hotel, very well located but with an absurd booking policy. We made a mistake in the day of the reservation and contacted them right away to correct it but we were still charged.

Good hotel at a good price.
Hotel was fine, stayed two nights, good staff and great location. Only issue some may have is that parking is a 5min walk away, but a pleasant walk so no issue for me. Good breakfast.

The staff went out of their way to accommodate my arrival at 6 am. Let me rest in the conference room until my room was ready. Had excellent suggestions on restaurants too. Would highly recommend if in Wiesbaden.

The hotel is located at 1.6 KM from the city center , Parking garage is located at two streets away from the hotel . The hotel doesn't have an A/C and no heating provided in the rooms. unprofessional staff and front desk .

This a very small boutique space and 1.5 KM from the city center, staff are rude and thinking they doing you a favor having you in their place, Elevator can fit luggage only, The rooms don't have any heater or A/C ,the parking on the street is very difficult but they have a remote parking approximately 600 Meter away. there is a coffee machine in the room and they provide coffee bags on the day of arrival only the rest of days they don't change toiletries or coffee, I stayed two days and escaped ,paid 550 Euro. this was a rip-off for this joke place .

Stephani, the Hotel manager during my stay was phenomenal! Very helpful, gracious and patient with an "outlander". The ONLY negative is the parking garage, which is very small and hard to get in and out of.

This hotel was very nice with wonderful staff. The location was convenient as it was only a 5 minute walk to the city center. The street was quiet and I was able to leave the door to the balcony open each night. The bed was a bit hard but everything else was clean and comfortable. I would stay again.

Great crib for business or romance
This clean and well-appointed hotel has it all. The recently renovated rooms are sharply decorated and very comfortable. If you're there on business, you'll feel great and work efficiently. In the morning, particularly on a weekday, you'll share the breakfast room with quite a few German business travelers, Romantic travelers will appreciate the quiet rooms and peaceful neighborhood behind the hotel (if you book a room on the back side, which is recommended for romantic stays). There is also a unique and special garden suite on the first floor, which you can nab if you book early. On weekends, you won't be the only pair taking their time to enjoy the ample and tasty breakfast fare. As a bonus, the romance doesn't end with the hotel. Wiesbaden suffered less wartime damage than other German cities, and at the Hotel de France, you find yourself in the middle of a very nice 19th/20th century German neighborhood. All normal types of shops are nearby, so it's as if you're "living in Germany". Even better -- a quarter-mile walk gets you to the city's extensive pedestrian-only area, which teems with stores and restaurants of all kinds. In short, if you wish to get a great feel for a slightly-upscale (and quite nice) aspect of modern Germany, then park your luggage at the Hotel de France for a few days and enjoy!

Two perfect nights
My friend and I spent two nights in Wiesbaden at Hotel de France. We booked in around 10 pm and when we left at noon the receptionist was kind enough to hold our bags while we spent the day at the Kaiser-Friedrich-Therme (mineral baths). Would definitely stay there again.

Conveniently located
Hotel was clean and nice. The only drawback was our stay was during the month of July. Being from the US, we are used to AC in the room. A fan was provided which helped. Just something we are not used to. Parking is available on the street. It's busy... you just need to be patient.
