Frankton Top Lock. A view down the Montgomery Canal from just below its junction with the Llangollen Canal. Originally this was in fact the main line of the canal from Ellesmere, which explains why Rowsons Bridge up on the Llangollen Canal, just beyond the junction, has the number 1 on it 130747, even though it is nearly 30 miles from the Llangollen's initial parting with the Shropshire Union Main Line at Hurleston.

Staying on a platform with occasional steam trains passing by. Wonderful experience. Cottage is well equipped and close to Llangollen and Corwen for shops. Having the beds made as double requires some gymnastics as headroom is limited in the converted loft. Overall a lovely place to stay and well ...
