About this property

Beautifully Renovated Stable & Cart House | Peaceful West Wales Farm Stay

  • ‘Y Cartws’ is a beautifully renovated former stable and cart house set on our family-run sheep and beef farm, Maesyfelin, in the heart of West Wales. Owned and cared for by Paul and Eirlys Williams, the farm has been in the family for seven generations, offering guests a truly authentic countryside experience.

    Surrounded by acres of rolling green fields, Y Cartws is a peaceful rural retreat where you can relax, unwind, and enjoy the slower pace of farm life. Whether you’re exploring the stunning West Wales coastline or simply soaking in the tranquillity, it’s the perfect place to escape.

    Guests are warmly welcomed to experience life on a working farm. If you visit during March and April, you may even catch the magic of lambing season – and perhaps help feed our orphan lambs (a favourite with visitors of all ages!).

    As night falls, the lack of light pollution makes this an ideal spot for stargazing, with clear dark skies on fine evenings. For something a little different, guests are also welcome to fly drones from our fields and capture the beauty of the surrounding landscape.

    Inside, the cottage blends character and comfort. The ground floor features a spacious farmhouse kitchen, a cosy living room, and a separate utility area. Upstairs you’ll find two comfortable bedrooms – one double and one twin – along with a modern shower room. A cot and additional single bed can also be provided if needed, making the cottage ideal for families.

    Y Cartws is both family-friendly and pet-friendly, with plenty of outdoor space for children to enjoy. Guests are welcome to explore the fields (when livestock are not present) and make the most of the fresh country air.

    Outside, there is a seating area with a table and bench, as well as a private spot just a short stroll from the cottage with table and chairs where you can relax and take in uninterrupted views across the surrounding farmland – the perfect place for a morning coffee or evening drink.

    Additional amenities include:

    * Free Wi-Fi throughout
    * Oil central heating
    * Towels provided
    * High chair, cot, and stair gate available
    * Ample parking
    * Good mobile signal (EE network)
