Great views and beach front, heated pool. Good proximity to beach, walkway and town. Locks were very tricky to open when entering room. Old furniture and attention to detail needs updating such as, marks on carpets, seals have peeling glue on door frames, patch ups on spa bath, water damage on cupboard. Cleaning and dusting things like conservatory windows and lamp would give a cleaner appearance. All in all a good stay which was convenient to beach and town.

A nice place to stay, great service
This motel is very nice and tidy, the room is clean and the kitchenette area has everything that is needed. only a few minutes from the main township via car. have stayed here before and recommend it. We had a incident, not the motels fault, but they were kind enough to provide 2 x breakfast vouchers for a local cafe. They had no obligation to do this at all but their kind gesture was appreciated and reflects the great service we received. We'd recommend this motel and will stay again if we plan to head back to Whitianga

This place is so beautiful, there little studios are in the most breath taking spot straight across from the beach and there staff are amazing would highly recommend to anyone

The location of this place was great, walking distance to shops and cafes, an easy stroll long the waterfront. The studio room we had was ideal for our needs, compact yet spacious. The sea views were mesmerising. Didn't hear or notice the traffic below. Friendly staff. Bed was a bit soft for me. No info in the room re working out tv, remotes etc, eventually managed to get into our netflix account. Would definitely stay there again. Thanks!

The room I stayed in was good as I could walk straight out of my room and into the pool. I took some photos of all the stains on the wall that made it look shabby. The sheets he uses on the bed were really noisy every time my husband or I moved we would wake up with the noise of the sheets they reminded me of hospital sheets it was so bad that I went and slept in the singe bed and then the next night my husband slept in the single bed.There is not that many car parks. I got the last car park but it was so tight I could not get out of the drivers side I had to get out the passenger side and then I scratched my self on all the trees as I had the last car park on the row of car parks. The reception area is always closed and locked you have to wait outside and ring the bell. I did make a late booking with them for an extra night and that was sorted for me so I could stay in the same room. I like the fact that I could walk across the road to a picnic table under a tree and have my lunch. The location is good. The pool and location and picnic table is what made the stay worthwhile. If it did not have these things then I would not stay there again.

Dear Guest, Thanks for your detailed review and we apologize that some of aspects of your stay were not up-to your expectations. Our linen is supplied from really good linen suppliers and it is hard but true that we cannot match everyone's needs and comfort, but we always try to balance this things and make sure every guest loves their bedding while staying with us. We have just enough car parks in our Motel which can accommodate every apartment cars. Now if someone had might use 2 car parks during their some might use only 1, which we don't control. This means we always advise our guest it on "Fist come- First occupied" and rest of them have to park off-street. Yes, we understand Motel is showing it's age and owners are well aware of same. They are planning to do some renovation and paints which we are unsure at stage when this start due to Covid-19 situation and finance. We have our operation hours of reception, maybe during those hours too we do our cleaning job which would be a case that you had to wait outside. As far as guest concerns, we are always available on phone anytime and we believe this was the case with you too. You made a phone call at night approx 9:30 pm to extend your stay and we managed to do this for you and kept you in same room instead of requesting you to do room moves. If there is anything that you need during your stay please let us know and we would be glad to try to accommodate any requirements(within our limits) that you may have. Dear Debra, Thank you for choosing to stay at Admiralty Lodge. We understand that the promise made by Expedia group- was not full-filled in a way it should have been. We have never advertised voucher Breakfast unless you pay additional cost for same. With your VIP badge we give-out complimentary in-house Continental breakfast for 01 guest per day regardless the number of people staying in the room. That's how we have set-up contract with Expedia group. Motel has 20 car parks which means each unit had got minimum of 01 car park during their stay. We don't control car parks as it is first come first serve but we always recommended our guest to park off-street whenever our car park is full. Saying, this our operation timings differ on seasonal basis, but are always available for all our guest on-call. One Night Only - but good impressions last
We stayed for one night as we going to the Lost Spring Spa. The room was upstairs and had an uninterrupted view across to the main beach. The room was large and spacious, we loved the couch and balcony area. The service was excellent and the host was very welcoming. We're already planning our next stay in Whitianga and intend to stay at the Admiralty.

Great sunrises from window. Brochure on table said free use of long board. Went to get one , office was closed. Housekeeping person walked by and we asked her. She showed us one in the maintenance building. We said we would be back for it in 30 minutes or so. Came back for it. Office still closed and maintenance building locked and housekeeping gone. Called phone number on office door and asked about board. Manager said it was reserved for someone else. How could they get it if no one is on premises to check it out. Another couple was also having issues with something but no staff to help.

This motel has come under new management recently which does not seem to know how to maximise the attraction and efficiency of what is undoubtedly a potentially very good establishment. Room sizes are most generous, and the efficient A/C is a huge bonus. My structural complaint is that there is insufficient sound proofing between floors so we were left in no doubt about the daily routines of the guests immediately above us! Daily control of staff seems to be lacking and defect reports are rather shrugged off by the new owner who seems to sit in the office all day doing who knows what. Twice we had to assist couples who arrived after the front office closed at 6 pm and the owner/manager failed to respond to telephone calls made as instructed on the office door. The new team must understand that it is in a service industry!! There is no consistency in the cleaning and checking of rooms so one room may not have trash removed while another ran out of toilet rolls. It is screaming out for proper quality control. I just hope that the new manager will learn lessons and respond to ensure that this great asset does not just fade away into service decay. However and currently, having compared this motel with many others along the esplanade this is the one to choose even though it is a good 20 minute walk into town for restaurants. Phil and Michelle run a friendly and swift taxi service, WHITI CITY Cabs for $10 a trip. Well worth it for the moment but will it survive?!

Everything was perfect, from very friendly staff, amazing views, comfy beds and the spa was great! They lend you paddle boards, spades, life jackets and everything you need to have fun at the beach (right across the property). Will defs return. Just great!

The staff were great. A great welcome and good hospitality. The view is nice. The traffic noise is significant in the room and the pool and there is no way to get away from it as there are no public areas away from the road. The amenities may be ok but it was hard to know as the management was in transition and there was no compendium in the room. The room was clean but tired. There were holes in the wallboard where there was art. The carpet is stained. The chairs on the balcony were extremely tired and uncomfortable. While the view is nice , you need transport to the restaurants and stores in whitianga unless you relish a 20 minute walk each way. It’s a nice walk though! Absolutely nothing wrong with a short stay there but it is not a 4 star at this time. The staff are all very pleasant and that makes a big difference to any stay.

25 minute walk to city centre restaurants/shops, nice pool shame they only have 3 lounge chairs no other seating and no umbrellas. Also the code to get into and out of the pool is a secret (I didn’t see it in their detailed guest book and wasn’t told on check in). Kitchen was handy, large sofa, nice sheets. Request a room on the ground floor for an outdoor patio with umbrella. Beautiful sea view and short walk to the beach(must cross a road) which is right in front of the hotel. More likely a 3 star.

Rooms were not clean and half renovated. Pool was dirty. A member of our group stayed 2 years ago and she was disappointed that it had changed so much and felt bad she recommended the hotel.
