"On arrival the room we hd was immaculate, low ceil"
We arrived and were shown to an immaculate room in the roof space, my husband who is 6ft+ did bang his head a few times(no harm done teehee) went down for drinks and dinner. The menu was not extensive, but had a good choice. I had crab salad, which was lovely Chris had bangers and mash. Lots of locals came in with their dogs, which was great to see. Spent a very good night in a very comfortable bed and the breakfast was spot on. Jason and the staff were brilliant. Would stay there again and would recommend the Jug and Glass. If you do stay there, when you have a shower, DONT turn the taps, just use the knob in the middle, and all will work perfectly. A very enjoyable stay

"A pleasing hotel "
We upgraded to a four poster room, which was nice, the additional chair would have made it more comfortable. The hotel food was very nice, but evening meals finish at 8pm and a good selection for breakfast.

"Friendly staff"
We arrived after a hectic day, the staff were helpful, even though they were very busy with a wedding party. An eary apology about potential noise from the evening party and an assurance that the music would stop by 11:30 were reassuring. It was actually quiet earlier than that. We had a family room, perfect for our two boys who loved their own space and the quirkness of their room, it was a few steps down from our room so when you open the door the top bunk was at the sort of level you would expect a bed. Everything was clean and tidy on arrival - the building itself has quite a lot of character. We had a good honest pub dinner.

"Barton House B&B"
Not the easiest place to find as it is not prominently signed on a busy road. That's the end of the negatives as everything else was excellent. Spotlessly clean, friendly owner, lovely colour schemes, comfortable and well equipped bedroom (en suite shower) and a superb breakfast. If you are looking for a B&B in the Matlock area, look no further.

"Quaint B&B on working farm"
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Park Farm B&B. Could not fault anything - thanks Sue for your hospitality. Will certainly be looking to return. There is so much to do and see in the surrounding area a couple of days is certainly not enough!

"Quirky B&B close to the centre of Wirksworth"
We stayed 3 nights in the Magistrate's room. This room was comfortable, but has a miniscule ensuite. At 6'1", my husband had to open the door in order to be able to pick up his towel from the floor! The shower controls also make no sense (point it to 'cold' in order to get hot water) and the pressure was rather low, making hair-rinsing difficult. We felt it was somewhat over-priced in comparison to other B&Bs we've stayed in. The location of the Old Lock-up is excellent for those staying in the town and we really appreciated the welcome and friendly service from the owner, Tim. However the parking is not easy - parking on street is limited to an hour and the parking area opposite only had space one night.

"Great cottage next to pub with great food!"
Fabulous home cooked and locally sourced food. Views amazing from rooms. Plenty parking. Not touristy. A lovely place to stay whilst breaking our journey back down south. Will definitely visit again!
