Enjoy a secluded stay in a peaceful country setting. Our modern shipping container home is nestled on a hillside in the corner of our 160 acre farm. This unique space has 2 bedrooms, each bedroom has a queen bed and full closet. The bedrooms are on opposite sides of the house, making it perfect for two couples. The home is complete with a fully stocked kitchen and a bathroom, a commons area and a deck overlooking the countryside. A beautiful 5 min drive from Viroqua and Westby, WI. Two quaint small towns with lots to offer. The Driftless region has a wide variety of year-round outdoors activities to offer. Spend the day trout fishing on nearby streams, biking the Driftless area, canoe the Kickapoo river, or go for a hike at our many parks, and return to the peace and quiet. Enjoy the scenery from the deck or have a bon fire.

Unique space, good location

My wife and I had a wonderful time staying here. The shipping container house was a unique and comfortable layout. Location was quiet and peaceful in the country, but close enough for a short drive to Viroqua. I would stay here again.

The container home construction was so cool! This property was spotlessly clean, smelled great, and the hosts had thought of everything. Everything is well represented by the pictures and descriptions online. Very scenic location.

Quiet, cute country stay

The house was so comfortable and cute! The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. It was great to be able to walk on the property and see the deer running through the fields. We loved the quiet country location but so nice to be so close to Viroqua, ( and the Driftless Cafe :).

Cool place

Wasn’t sure what to expect but the container house was very cool place. Quite and peaceful place to stay, we had a tournament on the river not to far. Owners were very helpful.

Second time here. Very quiet and comfortable. Has everything you need to relax and enjoy the Driftless. Hosts are outstanding and work hard to insure the best get away. Coming back next year for another crack at beautiful trout.

Cozy Get-Away

We were so excited to experience a stay in a shipping container. We tend to look for nontraditional options when vacationing. We were delighted by the size, cleanliness, and location of this little gem. It is so comfortable and nicely decorated. We used it as a base while exploring the small communities in the area and fishing the Kickapoo River system. We enjoyed the restaurants, shops and wineries. We highly recommend this vacation home.

Recent stay at the hillside hideaway

It was a great experience! We stayed here for a recent wedding at Vernon vineyards and it was about 5 miles from the venue. It was the perfect place for our family to stay and has accurate description. I have no complaints- only good things to say about the property and owner! Thanks for having us!

Hidden Gem

My in-laws stayed here a few as a Christmas gift from us. They are both bikers and adventurous people who definitely had more than enough activities to fill a couple days. Close to a winery/brewery. Took lots of nature pictures. Also couldn’t say enough about how nice the VRBO was.

Perfect in every way!

An old friend and I were in town for a few days to catch up and do some fishing. This place is simply amazing! Very clean and comfortable and private while being only minutes from town and as many trout streams as two old timers could handle! Would whole heartedly recommend and will definitely be back! The best Hideaway around!

This is our second visit to the Hidden Hideaway. We have relatives in Westby, so the location is absolutely perfect for our needs. The property is always spotlessly clean when we arrive, and the two small porches outside of each bedroom was a lovely addition! Another amenity that we loved was the Bluetooth speaker. The beautiful clear chilly nights were enhanced by the fire pit with firewood dry and ready to use! Communication with the hosts was always prompt and easy. We look forward to staying at the Hideaway again the next time we’re in the region!

What a beautiful place

I can’t begin to describe what a beautiful place this was. From the moment we drove up the driveway, we knew this home was going to have a special place in our hearts. This was our first getaway since having our son and it was everything we imagined and more. House was clean. It had everything we needed to cook ourselves a meal. Waking up to the birds chirping and the peace surrounding the home was exactly what we needed. Loved how secluded it was yet only 10 minutes away from the cutest town! Highly recommend! We came back from our mini vacay and couldn’t stop telling our friends and family how cute and perfect this home was. Already planning our next stay!

Peaceful getaway

Hidden Hillside was just as lovely as the photos! Everything was very clean and tidy, and the home was surprisingly spacious. The beds were very comfortable and the AC was most appreciated during this hot weather! Communication with the owners was very easy and efficient. Kitchen was very well appointed and the laundry room came in handy and worked well without being noisy. The dishwasher was great to have as well. There isn’t much room to move around the sides of the beds, but I’d rather have a large bed than more space to get out of it. Our relatives were all curious to see a house made of shipping containers, and were most impressed! Thanks for a relaxing, quiet, restful place where all our needs were anticipated.

Fantastic!

This beautifully decorated, very comfortable, impeccably clean rental is set in a lovely, private spot. The hosts thought of everything. Wondering how you will open a bag of coffee, there are scissors right next to the coffee maker, prefer french press, there's on it the cabinet above. Worried what to do when the bag of granola you bought at the wonderful Meninite store in town breaks open, the are several sizes of ziploc bags to the rescue! Daughter gets a skinned knee chasing lightning bugs, of course there is a first aid kit. I could go on, but you get the picture! I loved sitting on the deck listening to the dawn chorus of birds! We were visiting family, and will this place will be on the top of our list for next summer!
