Crimson Villa: charming and Imposing
Stayed: Feb/ March 2012
We all know from past holiday experiences, there are often many things that can cause your holiday disappointments, we were happy with our choice of Nevis and our stay at Crimson Villa.
Nevis has a combination of rich history, charm, peaceful, tranquility, beauty, beaches and many quality restaurants. If that is what you are looking for in a destination, Nevis is the perfect place to visit for your holiday and stay at Crimson Villa. The villa is grace with shaded verandas lovely views of the Caribbean Sea and St. Kitts Island in the distance, while complemented with contemporary kitchen, bathrooms and a 30 foot pool. The breeze passes through the house which makes it cool during the hot days.
On our arrival we got wonderfully surprise the kitchen was stocked with everything you need after such a long journey. There was a welcome pack of goodies in the kitchen and bar area of the house. Tea, coffee, milk, sugar, and the local cold Carib beers in the fridge.
Quality linen, towels, which included beach were all provided and there were books to read, games and DVDs should the need ever arise to prize you away from sunbating by the pool. If your get bored by sunning yourself by the pool and watching the monkeys playing in the trees, the nearest beach is only 5 minute stroll down the path. The beach is nearly always deserted with calm, clear waters, so good for swimming.
We took up the property manager’s travel recommendations: taxi from St Kitts airport to the Sea Bridge boat; 10 minute trip from St Kitts to Nevis met by the villa manager who arranged everything including transfer to the villa and car hire who even drops off the car at the Villa!
While almost all of the action on the Caribbean side of Nevis, we also loved the more rugged and quieter Atlantic side. The roads are also better and the beaches are more remote for privacy. Make time to visit Golden Rock and The Hermitage hotels to get a sense of Nevis' roots and take in some fantastic views.
If you are the adventures type you may like tackled Nevis Peak which is 3,350 feet above sea level and we found it to be a great challenge as we slide through the forest. The climb is very steep but it was made considerably easier with hand ropes available to help you reach the top. Beautifully lush and verdant right to the top and all the better for being free to gather your thoughts and reflect on your stay. Make sure
