An Old Fashioned but Friendly Hotel
An old hotel but quaint. Good old fashioned Northern service and style. The Manager is always friendly and helpful . Location is perfect for us when we are up that way visiting our son at Leeds Uni or whether we are there on business. Having the Restaurant next door as an added bonus when you have been driving for hours as well.

Though the building seems to be an old one but the environment was clean and comfortable. The staff were very nice and friendly. I also love the Indian restaurant downstairs for supper but not to good for breakfast. Overall, the hotel is not bad to stay.

Good value
So it's no premier inn etc, but for this price bracket you could do worse (and I have!). Everything else on this night was twice the price. Surprisingly comfortable, clean, perfectly fine. Happy to stay again - and I'm a bit fussy. Didn't feel like a was having to compromise on anything particularly. Would recommend and will book again. Wish I'd checked in earlier and had a curry there.

Always have a decent stay here.....
Stop here alot when me and my friends are over to watch Yorkshire at Headingley. Always comfortable and good value for money. Plenty of pubs/places to eat nearby.

Not very clean and the breakfast was horrible, do not waste money to pay for the continental breakfast , you are better off to save money and get from outside

Reasonable hotel
A pleasant welcome, room was clean and what I expected. Plenty of parking. Away from city center, several eating outlets short walk from hotel. Petrol station opposite. Ianian restaurant on site.

So this is the second time, I’ve stayed at this property. The previous time being before the lockdown for COVID. My opinion is that the property is better now than it was then and it was adequate then but now it is very good. There seem to have been improvements in decor and in cleanliness and the staff were very helpful. The security gentleman who checked us in on arrival was very pleasant and the, presumably, hotel owner who was present at breakfast in the mornings was very pleasant also. He also had a young lady working with him, who was also very pleasant and helpful. On both occasions, I stayed at this hotel I stayed because I was attending functions at the Castle Grove function suite and it’s very convenient being approximately an eight minute walk. I would definitely stay at this property again, and I recommend it to others.
