About this property

Aspen Pond Retreat | 7 Mi to YNP | Private Pond

  • Stay on a 40+ acre Western ranch just 7 miles from Yellowstone’s West Entrance. Aspen Pond Retreat pairs an incredible location with something you won’t find in a typical Yellowstone stay: a private fishing pond, wide-open views, wildlife, and room to breathe. In summer, catch a live rodeo or book horseback and wagon rides right on the ranch. In winter, snowmobile directly to nearby trails. A true Montana experience, minutes from Yellowstone.

Welcome to Aspen Pond Retreat — part Yellowstone basecamp, part peaceful Montana ranch getaway.

Just 7 miles from Yellowstone’s West Entrance, Aspen Pond gives you an experience that’s hard to find this close to the park. The cabin sits on a beautiful 40+ acre Western ranch with its own private fishing pond, wide-open mountain views, wildlife passing through, and plenty of space to slow down and enjoy where you are.

And in the summer, things get even more fun.

From mid-June through mid-August, the ranch comes alive with live rodeos, horseback rides, and wagon rides available right on the property. Spend the morning exploring Yellowstone, come home for an afternoon by the pond, then walk over to a real Western rodeo that evening. It’s the kind of Yellowstone trip kids — and adults — tend to remember.

    THE CABIN

Inside, Aspen Pond is warm, comfortable, and easy to settle into. There’s plenty of space to gather after a day in the park, along with a fully equipped kitchen for meals at home, WiFi, a Smart TV, dedicated workspace, and washer and dryer.

The primary bedroom has a king bed, its own fireplace, and access to the patio — a particularly cozy spot to come back to after a long Yellowstone day.

    SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

Bedroom 1: King bed + fireplace + patio access
    Bedroom 2: Queen bed
    Bedroom 3: Queen bed

    Sleeps up to 10 guests.

    THE POND & RANCH

The setting is what makes Aspen Pond special.

Step outside and you have 40+ acres of Montana ranch country around you. Enjoy your morning coffee on the wraparound porch, watch for wildlife, wander down to the private fishing pond, or stay out after dark and enjoy just how many stars you can see when you get away from the city.

The ranch is shared with two other cabins, but the homes are spaced apart to give each its own sense of privacy.

    SUMMER ON THE RANCH

From approximately mid-June through mid-August, guests have the opportunity to experience a little bit of the West without even leaving the property.

Depending on the schedule, you can:

    • Catch a live Western rodeo
    • Book a guided horseback ride
    • Take a wagon ride
    • Fish the private pond
    • Spend an evening around the fire pit
    • Watch for wildlife around the ranch

Rodeos, horseback rides, and wagon rides are separately operated experiences and require their own tickets/reservations. Schedules and availability vary.

    YELLOWSTONE

One of the best parts? You don’t have to choose between a unique ranch stay and being close to Yellowstone.

The West Entrance of Yellowstone National Park is just 7 miles away. Head into the park early for wildlife watching, spend the day exploring Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic Spring, waterfalls, geysers, and trails, then leave the crowds behind and come home to the quiet of the ranch.

    WINTER AT ASPEN POND

When the snow arrives, this becomes a completely different kind of adventure.

Snowmobilers can access nearby trail systems without the hassle of loading up and trailering every morning, with access toward popular Lion’s Head and Two Top riding areas. There’s also room for trailer parking at the property.

After a full day in the snow, come back to a warm cabin, cook dinner, and settle in by the fireplace.
