The hotel did find another available accommodation with a different property in another town and drove our party there - however would have to pay all over again, and none of the amenities important to us. "This was one of our favourite hotel stays ever! Beautiful wood panelled lodge set into the hills of the Black Forest. The room was spotless and the food at dinner and breakfast was faultless too. The service was friendly throughout. The view from the beer garden alone is worth coming for. 10/10

"My mother and I were pleasantly shocked by the warm hospitality offered by the hosts! The couple that greeted us were very kind and went through great efforts to make us feel at home despite the language barrier. The property was extremely well kept, surrounded by beautiful flowers, and the interior was very well decorated. The breakfast offered was a warm surprise and the service was outstanding! The next time I visit the German Black Forest I will absolutely be staying here again! "

They ended up ensuring some kind of accommodation but this cost our party a lot of time (including additional hiking the next morning), and unnecessary stress. No effort has been made to offer reimbursement. The Expedia team has been very empathetic and tried to help but that didn’t help that this put a dent into an otherwise fun weekend"
