"Pros: super fast elevator. Lovely, attentive staff who gave great recommendations. Those of us who are introverted will love the options to communicate via text and/or app, including checkout. By far the most well stocked and maintained gym I have been to on the eastern seaboard. They even had a deadlift platform. Cons: It’s an old (historic?) building, that has its quirks. The carpets could do with an additional cleaning or replacing altogether, and one of the desk chairs in my room could do with reupholstering, but I have an extremely sensitive nose. The guest room doors aren’t soft close and I was there during a wedding so there was a lot of people teens and twenties running in and out until 2-3 am, and then the older early risers started slamming doors at 7 am. But I stress, this isn’t a hospitality staff problem, it’s a whomever is in charge of budgeting for facelifting—well, it’s time for that facelift."

"I enjoyed my two-night stay at the Hyatt Centric. My room was ready upon check-in and was in pristine condition. Staff was friendly and professional, the hotel was quiet, and I had a lovely view from my room. The hotel is centrally located and close to restaurants, stores, and public transportation; it is also one mile from attractions like Reading Terminal Market. One thing to note: the entrance to the hotel is on a side street, which I almost missed because I was not expecting it. This has nothing to do with the service of the hotel, but is something to be aware of (I walked to the hotel at nearly midnight and felt perfectly safe). Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a getaway to (or staycation in!) Philly."
