"Der Hof Verchen liegt nur 3...4 Minuten vom Kummerower See entfernt. Im Sommer hat man den Vorteil, dass man mit ein paar Schritten dem Trubel am Wasser entfliehen kann und doch nahe dran ist. Und jetzt im Winter ist es herrlich still. Ich habe den Sessel vor das Gartenfenster geschoben und Wildgänse und Singschwäne beobachtet. Die Ferienwohnung war geräumig sehr gemütlich eingerichtet und hatte alles, was man braucht. Und die Vermieter sind überaus freundlich und vermitteln Willkommensein."

In der Nähe der "Amazonas des Nordens", die Peene, in der man schwimmen, angeln und Boot fahren kann. Man braucht allerdings auch das Auto, um sich die Umgebung, bis hin zur Küste, anzuschauen. "A nice place to stay: nice rooms and a super breakfast, but unless you are prepared to pay £70/night to park your car in their underground parking you could have quite a walk back to the hotel (like we did). We hit it lucky, though, because even though we had quite a walk we only had to pay for an hour’s parking as it was 3pm Friday afternoon and after four it’s free until Monday morning. The other disappointment was the horrific stains on the carpets in some of the corridors. The carpets really do need replacing. Apart from that, great."
