Cozy Sand Rd. Apartment next to Tioga State Forest Close to Grand Canyon of Pa

Sand Road Apartment is on a dirt road that passes thru Tioga State Forest. This is a wild area of Pennsylvania. The apartment is constructed and on the second floor of a garage seperat from the owners residence. A carpeted stairway leads to the kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom (shower) . Couples or singles are welcomed at the Sand Road apartment. A nice location to begin many activities from. Hike the trails across the road. Consult the Tioga State Forest map or a local trail guidebook and you will find a variety of beautiful hikes. Head down the mountain to the Rails To Trails bike trail for some flat bicycle riding thru some of the nicest scenery anywhere including The Grand Canyon Of Pennsylvania. Pine Creek nearby offers good trout fishing in the spring or canoeing, kayaking or white water rafting with the outfitters. Lakes nearby offer good fishing in all seasons. You will not be far from the town of Wellsboro. Whether its dining , entertainment (surprisingly good at The Deane Center ), shopping or just sitting on the town green, you balance your stay with a little getting back to civilization. You also have the option of easy highway access (roughly an hour north ) to tour Corning, Watkins Glenn, or the wine country around the Finger Lakes. Golf courses are reasonably close. Also it is worthy to note a number of annual activities held. The "Green Monster" running race passes thru the forest across the road from here in addition to mountain bike races. Driving thru the forest, you may see a variety of wildlife including deer, turkey, bears, coyote (mostly you just hear them at night) bobcats (maybe a fleeting glimpse) and grouse, chipmunks etc. The apartment sets on the second floor of a garage separate from the owners residence. There is a deck to relax on and a fire pit. If you have come on a motorcycle you are welcome to park in the shed over nite. Again , note the apartment is on the second floor. A carpeted stairway leads to the kitchen, living room, bedroom,, bathroom (shower), and laundry room (washer,dryer, and slop sink ). We welcome everyone including nature lovers, hikers, bicyclists, motorcyclists, hunters, fishermen, snowmobilers, canoers and kayakers. Make this your home away from home !

We had the most amazing stay at Tom & Aine's place. They made us feel right at home from the second we arrived. Tom had several maps of the trails and canyon information that was very helpful. Aine gave us great suggestions for dining and things to do. The town of Wellsboro was adorable and the people were very friendly everywhere we went. The apartment was perfect for two and had everything we could have needed or wanted, from books & movies to snacks and toiletries. They thought of everything. BUT my #1 thing about this apartment was how flawlessly clean it was!!!! We only had two days to explore, so we will be back and will definitely stay at Tom & Aine's place again.

Hidden Gem

My husband and I had a wonderful second visit to this peaceful and cozy apartment. Tom and Aine are wonderful hosts and will make your stay extra special. The apartment is immaculately clean and very comfortable.We enjoyed riding the rail trail on our bikes. I highly recommend packing a lunch and stopping at the Tiadaghton Access Area for a picnic lunch. The Wellsboro area has some delicious restaurants for dinner. During our stay we enjoyed eating at the Wellsboro House, The Steak House, and Log Cabin Inn.

An amazing place to stay

This was the most quaint and cozy beautiful "little" apartment we could have ever found. The location is gorgeous. It was so clean and had everything you could ever need and more. The hosts were so friendly, gracious and knowledgeable about the area and made our trip extra special. This is the perfect weekend getaway spot or a week in the country. Definitely recommend and would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful Place

This property is about 25 minutes from Wellsboro but the drive is beautiful. We were able to get to the Rail Trail near Darling Run pretty easily from here. The accomodations are perfect and lots of homey touches! Hosts were hospitible and friendly!

Great late summer stay

Spent long weekend at Tom and Aine’s place. It’s a beautiful property. Perfect for two people, clean and well appointed. Went into Wellsboro for dinners. Drove up to Watkins Glen (1 1/4 hr) and hiked the glen, worth the ride.

Perfect little apartment near PA Grand Canyon

This is a wonderful place to stay, with easy access to Wellsboro, PA, the Grand Canyon, and interesting back roads of northern PA. Tom and Aine are welcoming and helpful. The apartment has everything that one needs and there is also a little deck for outdoor lounging and a fire pit. After busy days, it was like coming home to return to the apartment in the evenings.

2nd Stay Just as Great as First

We love staying at the Sand Rd. Apartment. This was our second stay here. Even though we had some bad weather it was still a good get-away. Tom and Aine are great and thoughtful hosts. They are full of knowledge about the area. The apartment is clean and comfortable. We love the peace and quiet of the area. We will be back!

A Perfect Getaway!

We wanted to have a weekend away (we're from Philly) for our anniversary. We have visited Wellsboro before and decided to go back again. We found this Cozy Sands Road place and thought it would be perfect to be our in the country AND close to Wellsboro. We were SO happy with this rental. First, it was SO clean! I am pretty sure I have never stayed in such a clean property. They took time for all the welcoming amenities. Tom and Aine were so warm and welcoming. And they had lots of ideas of places for us to hike. We will be back again next year!
