We booked the family room as we were travelling with our teenage son and wanted to give him some privacy, but we had to go through his room to get to the bathroom which was very unpleasant during the night. Also the rooms are stuffy, small and very packed. No staff onsite and just a lockbox to get in, breakfast in the fridge … all very average. Feels more like a backpackers than a hotel. Would not go there again.

Clean, comfortable, lots of space and right in the downtown area. Lots of restaurants near by. Really appreciated the breakfast foods in the room as we had an early morning start.

Quirky hotel, great location. Was a little noisy at times but very central location. Great for older family as separate room for kids but stairs are steep to our room, no air conditioning and unable to open windows.

Great spa pool and privacy. No air con made it hard to sleep and lack of cuttlery made it hard to eat as no plates or knives or forks. Easy check in and check out but must be semi tech savy. Check what is included in the breakfast.

Cute little Boutique.
Nice little Boutique. We got the King room with Spa pool.With it being the top floor there was no elevator, The room was comfy but had no air conditioning, lucky it had large French doors leading out to the big private balcony. Other than the elevator it was lovely.

A funky little property in a great location. The balcony room was excellent and having our own spa was amazing but there were a few little things that could do with a refresh - eg replacing fraying carpet, cleaning the spa cover, and making sure all the outdoor lights work.

Honestly this place was so perfect for us. Both the location and the vibe were so onn! Unfortunately the only let down was that it was a wee bit dirty. The blind next to the bed was like thickk with dust and the spa pool was smelly/slimy and the water was cloudy. Other than that it was like a tiny bit run down but that all could be excused as part of the vibe if only it was that little bit cleaner... in saying that the service was excellent and I almost didn't want to give such honest feedback because they were so nice. To be fair we were here for the location not the spa anyway but it would've been nice if we could've used it without worrying that we might pick up something weird. Also tv did not have a chrome cast so we were stuck watching free tv the whole time which is a small thing but that could be easily remedied

Was a great stay other than I opted for an upgrade from a shared bathroom to a private bathroom only to have a bathroom that was across the hallway from my room. I think the term Private should not be used and future guests should be aware of the situation. If I had known I would have just gone with the shared option because ultimately it didn't feel that private.

Very noisy from the people upstairs, they were clumping around and every noise was heard in our room downstairs. Noise went on until around 2 to 3 am. Good from then on. Thanks for the ear plugs

We purchased two Queen rooms with private bathrooms. Unfortunately when we arrived we did not want to stay the full three nights we booked. The bathrooms were located across the hall (not inside the bedroom and operated with a different key). The front doors of the hotel did not seemed to be locked at all during the night so it did not seem secure. One bedding had a large stain on it. One bathroom had an unusual smell and a window we couldn’t quite close (was a cold night so not ideal). We rung the owner and said we were happy to pay for the first night, but would like a refund for the second two nights as the accomodation did not meet the expectations of what was advertised. He agreed and we cancelled the booking. Unfortunately he has only paid us a partial refund stating Expedia charges a commission for the booking. When in contact with Expedia they have said they do not take any payment from the booking nor a commission. I am still waiting for an email to confirm the rest of my refund (total of $108). The property itself felt more like a hostel. If they can replace the stained bedding and fix the window/bathroom and you are happy with a hostel style stay then this might be okay for you. But beware ‘private bathroom’ is not included in your room- it is more like a hostel arrangement where you have to cross a hall in your towel/robe. We won’t be staying at this hotel again and hope that the owner keeps to their word and refunds us for a service we did not use.

The location is good for getting around in the Wellington CBD. When I booked it said breakfast included, if there was couldn't find where it was and I wasn't told t check in. The info in the room said in the downstairs cafe area, I only saw a lobby, no breakfast space or cafe. I stayed three nights, didnt seem like my room was attended to my whole stay.

I was very happy to be upgraded to a larger room! This made our holiday much more comfortable. I was a little disappointed that there was no secure storage for luggage after we checked out. In the end it was easier to store at te papa lockers.

Loved the space and great family catch up.Very thankful. Bathroom got a bit chilly as no heater in there nor extractor fan. Some dish cloth and bathroom cloth world be handy. Would definitely recommend and come back.
