Nice comfy bed and black out drapes amazing. Room was spacious and spotlessly clean. I liked that I could open the window a bit even though I was on 20th floor. Would definitely recommend.

Great location in the CBD. Walking distance to woolsworth mart, Cablecar, beehive, teppa. I would recommend oneway cablecar ticket to top and then walk your way down through botanical garden to the hive. Lots of place to eat around and shop. Rooms are not up to date, No A/C just a fan. Would recommend to book room with marina view.

We had numerous issues with this hotel, starting with how to access hotel from street, to hot room with no air conditioning ( a fan with cord across table ) which precluded access to other side of bed. Complained to management and finally after wasting 45 mins of our time we were moved to a better room Still no air con . Parking also a big issue. The bays are not clearly numbered/hotel parking in commercial garage was full / after moving car twice we received a late night call around 10 pm re issue with our parking bay. Husband had to get dressed and go down to reception, only to find staff hadn’t communicated from previous shift ! Communicated our issues to assistant manager as we left Wine was delivered to room from VIP after we accessed room and told staff there was none in fridge

It’s a heritage building, of course so the architecture is superb with ornate mouldings and vaulted ceilings. very spacious and equipped with smart TVs, stand in showers, kitchenette, and very centralized. There is one toilet, however that is difficult to flush, the only negative about this place.

This is a Travelodge, but not as we know them in England. The premises are new, and not built to a corporate formula but to suit the location. My room was superbly equipped and maintained, and with a stunning harbour view. Reception, and all the staff I encountered, were excellent too. The hotel is quiet even though it is only about 50 yards from Wellington's premier shopping street, and that is where you should go for a pleasant dining experience. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the restaurant or its food, but I would only rate it as an "adequate cafe". If you want ambience, menu choice, and high quality then dine out. It's there because it has to be, for a quick bite before you do something else. I would happily return to Wellington Travelodge without considering anywhere else.

No air-conditioning and stifling rooms
Avoid this hotel during the summer! Unbelievably for a 4 star hotel in the centre of the city, the rooms have no air-conditioning. The room had a small fan that did little to stir the stifling, hot air. I resorted to having the curtains open all night to try to draw some cooler air in but it was still hot. So every night was poor sleeping and waking about 5.30am with the sunrise. The breakfast was good but who cares if you can't sleep properly...

Great hotel, central and convenient
We had a beautiful room on the 20th floor. The room had a microwave oven, fridge and a safe. We were very happy with it. The staff were good. The gym is small with a single treadmill and a bike as well as a rowing machine, two gym balls and a set of weights up to about 10 kg. We enjoyed going to Zelandia, the Academy of Fine Arts, and the Wellington Museum. Hotel is centrally located in Wellington. Major attractions are nearby. You can catch buses along Lambdon Quay. Take a number 24 of us all the way up into the hills it's a great ride. Especially on a double-decker. You can also take a bus to WETA Cave , where you can see some of the models from the Hobbit, even if you don't pay for the tour. There is a Count Down Supermarket down the street.

Disappointment - Travelodge (Wellington)
The room did not have AC, which I would have expected from a hotel of this rating. While a pedestal fan and electric bar room heater were provided, this was not in standing with other Travelodges I have stayed at. Additionally, while I pre-paid for parking and followed all instructions provided by the hotel, I still received a parking fine which I then had to return to the hotel to sort out.

The room was a little small but comfortable. The beds were excellent. And a great view. The hotel is in walking distance from nearly all the city has to offer. Staff were excellent and very informative and helpful.
