About this property
Gather your family at this country estate
This property is set in the countryside across from Judd Farm Day Camp this is one of the properties of "Watertown Country Estates". Minutes to Taft, Rumsey Hall & The Gun School. There is room to accommodate a group for a family holiday or special occasion.. 1) Enterprise class internet 2) Four grocery store 2 of which deliver 3) 10 minutes to Bantam lake for swimming 4) Rooms have Wifi & AC units 5) The house sleeps 14 6) There is a laundry 7) Multiple restaurants in town for pickup or delivery The property can easily accommodate a large family (or a work team) that wants to get together in comfort and style in a lovely, quiet, country setting. With 4 generous-size bedrooms upstairs, a library with 2 additional full-sized beds, small study table, couch, and a second TV, a family room with a fireplace and a living room with a piano (and sleeper sofa), there's lots of options for a group up to 14 (or more with some prior approval and planning). It is on 33 acres, but only 10 minutes straight down the road to town, providing excellent shopping and restaurant choices nearby (and many offer home delivery).
Judd Farm was completely redecorated December 2017, and thoughtful improvements are continuously being added. The kitchen appliances have since been updated summer of 2021.
We have also added a bright and open banquet-style space in the large garage area which could seat up to 30 (subject to prior approval and local restrictions).
The dining room is decorated in country French style, with 6 chairs but capacity to seat more if desired (folding chairs stored in the porch closet). The hutch and buffet has an assortment of serving platters and vessels, as well as linens, silver flatware and various serving pieces. In the garage is a grill that can be wheeled to the driveway for guests' use, along with banquet tables and additional chairs.
The family room has 2 large, comfortable sofas and a raised hearth fireplace. Firewood is available, but if you are unfamiliar with starting or tending a fireplace, we ask that you please do ask for assistance and information: smoke and fumes are dangerous to people and property! The 42" HDTV gives you a choice of Amazon, Netflix, or HBO.
There are drapes in family room that may be closed at night for privacy and heat retention. It would be thoughtful to also close the drapes on the porch to help conserve fossil fuel, thanks!.
The most convenient entry is straight through the garage, so we provide a key to the garage (which opens the left side). To lock it you have to move the door up and down a little bit. The other key opens the side porch. If it is snowy and wet you should use the garage entrance. There is no walkway yet to the porch door.

Family reunion
once we were able to gain access which took some time, we were pleasantly welcomed and comforted by the charm of this gorgeous farm house. It had everything we needed and more! The beds are extremely comfortable anthehoiiiiisisspspacious yet
Best VRBO experience I have ever had and it’s not even close. The home is even been than what you see on the pictures which is extremely rare. The property is beautiful and clean with a wonderful backyard and a bunch of space (including a fire pit and a nice grill).
Additionally, the host, Faye, was an absolute pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!!! 5/5 stars
This is an older home with charm. Lots of room, and while just six of us stayed, it appears more could be accommodated with inflatable mattresses. We enjoyed sitting outside by the simple fire pit one night. I would encourage the owners to put an outside light in the back as I stumbled on the stairs twice but that’s really the only issue. We are so sorry we misplaced one of the two keys, please send us a bill for a copy if you don’t find it. Thank you!

Disappointed
The pictures of “the county estate” on Vrbo were beautiful. The reviews that we read sounded great. I love old houses and decided it would be a great place to get away for a few days with our growing family and all be under one roof. Our stay was anything but beautiful. The host was unhelpful, unresponsive and unkind. The house was dirty. The bed’s uncomfortable, soiled and foul smelling. The bathrooms unhygienic, and the kitchen unsanitary. Without going into detail, the final straw was expecting us to pay extra money for snow removal. Our family has traveled all over the world and never encountered the conditions we did this past week. Disappointed doesn’t come close to expressing the experience we had and we will be a lot more cautious about where we choose to stay in the future.
