The room was small but really cozy and clean. And the linen was fresh and clean the water pressure was amazing and the atmosphere and area it was located was a pleasant.
Great location, old style boutique hotel. Easy walk to the museums and close to a good train route to some other attractions like the Arlington Cemetery and the Washington Nationals Baseball ground.
We will definitely stay here again when we are back in town
Nice simple hotel. Good bed and shower.
Friendly service at the reception near by the White House a otherwise well known monuments

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The location of the hotel is great. It’s not flashy place at all but the staff are friendly. It’s fine for a short stay especially if you don’t plan to stay indoors often.
I like the best of this hotel is its location, which you can see on the map. Moved from another hotel to the Architect Hotel, the water pressure impressed me. I heard that this hotel went through a renovation, but it maintained its old charm. One nightshift receptionist was particularly helpful to make sure that he would get my lunch bag from the refrigerator before 7 am, and handed it to me as soon as I stepped out of the elevator heading out to work. I loved to stay there for three weeks.
Very close to dowtown and white house. It was within the walking distance of the embassy I wanted to visit as well. Room clean and easy access and a great guy at the front desk.
The room was clean and comfortable, the air conditioning was working very well, the lobby area had lemon water, choice of tea or coffee and a microwave with plenty of utensils and napkins.
They needed to clean the front entrance of the elevator; there were some visible big blotches of dirty spots leading down the steps to the front of the elevator.
Great location. 10 min walk to the White House. The metro was 5 min walk. A few places to eat around the area.

Liked: Cleanliness
Small hotel, some modern amenities, but kind of outdated/historic. Rooms were okay, air conditioners worked well (some reviews said they didnt) and the showers were hot. If you aren't spending much time in your room it's a perfect cheaper hotel.
Only main complaint is that our room was muggy, with and especially without the ac, and the lobby could use a renovation. Otherwise, fantastic stay, loved the location, room was super clean, and the staff was delightful.

Disliked: Amenities
Room was small but clean, staff was friendly, parking overnight on weekends is difficult to find close to the property
Lobby staff was extremely helpful and accommodating, room was very clean, perfect location to walk to the monuments/White House/Smithsonian museums. Loved it!
Wonderful vintage hotel! Well maintained. Nice lounge area with iced lemon water, coffee and tea. Very helpful staff. I got in the room and found that the bed was made with sheet on top of the comforter which was strange. Flat and hard pillows. A very nice stay though, would be a return guest for sure.
Close to Capitol Hill and walkable to many parts of the city. Staff was kind and the room was consistently maintained by housekeeping. I would highly recommend.
The room was clean and very cute! Everything about the hotel had a very comfortable, warm feeling. The staff was extremely attentive and caring. Had a wonderful short stay!
Staff was great, air conditioning very cold, overall great value for the cost. We came via train so we walked everywhere and it was a great location close to plenty of food and convenient stores as well as all of the sites we wanted to see. There really aren't amenities to speak of but we knew that going in and decided the lower cost was worth it. Would stay again!
