Wonderful stay, comfortable and quiet rooms at central and on the waterfront location. But the best part was to have an opportunity to meet all the wonderful people, who work there, and always made themselves available and helpful.

Safe neighborhood. Not many amenities in the room like slippers and plain coffee maker. You can drink only keurig capsules. But overall I enjoyed the stay with a river view.

We stayed one night after a concert at The Birchmere and were not disappointed. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Only possible downside is that we checked in late (10:15 to 10:30) and valet parking wasn't available. The public garage attached was almost full. If it wasn't for someone pulling out as we got there, we may not have had a place to park. Additionally, we noticed orange pylons in many spaces that could have been made available. If we were unable to get a spot, we would have gone in and and spoken to the front desk and I would hope that they would have been able to help us. All in all, we would stay again.

It is not worth the price. I spent $450 for two nights. There was no microwave in the room. It had a ridiculous barn door for the bathroom, providing zero privacy. The water pressure in the shower was extremely low, almost unusably low. The chair was unusably uncomfortable and it had a laughably stupid bean bag for an ottoman. The office chair was uncomfortable as well. And the blinds on the windows came off their track when opening in and closing. The ice machine room was gross, with water everywhere and clearly something growing there to make it smell horrible. And I got to spend an additional $40 per night to park my car. I do not recommend.

Our room was so dirty. The floor had not been mopped in weeks. Found food in crevice between bed and nightstand. The bathroom appeared clean, but upon closer look it only had a quick wash down. Lamp didn't work. Windows looked like we were in prison. Bathrooms in lobby had hairs all over sink, unflushed toilets, and tp on the floor. The woman who had the night shift, sitting at the front desk, grumbled at me in the morning when I walked passed her and woke her up. The only reason we didn't complain is because we arrived very late and had to leave early the next morning, didn't have time for conflict. Would NEVER stay here again. Their price was way too high for the quality of room and service. Only thing good was location and covered parking (which you have to pay extra for).

The property itself was great - well located, relatively new. The hotel had courteous staff but seemed understaffed - check in wasn’t available for two hours after the designated time, the bar was overwhelmed on new years, and the gym had a few out of order machines and no equipment wipes.

Great location
We came for New Year’s Eve and had a wonderful trip. Each person at the front desk was helpful and kind. Would recommend as a great spot if visiting Old Town Alexandria. Very walkable too

I stayed for the first time earlier in the year. I like being near the water and the walking path, that can take me to several restaurants is right outside the door. With that said, most of the time I ate at the Hummingbird right on their site. Food and service is great. It is always the staff that makes me come back though. Friendly and attentive.

Worst hotel stay ever! Checked in Thursday, the TV didn't work, they moved us to another room, while in our new room, a stranger walked into our room while we were in bed!!!! The front desk gave him a key because they didn't communicate with each other that the room was now occupied. Friday night at 2:00am it sounded like the person above us was rearranging his room, dragging furniture and stomping very hard. We called the front desk, they moved us to yet another room. The hotel staff was very apologetic and wanted to reimburse us for the entire two night stay. The problem was we used Hotel.com and they couldn't reimburse us. Moving forward, I will book directly with the hotel, that way, if the stay is unsatisfactory, I can deal directly the hotel management.
