The manager is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The toilet did back up as if it had air in the line, however we were able to fix it.

Check in was good, rooms are old, out dated. Air conditioning was noisy, and although the room seemed cleaned it felt damp. Bed was hard and had feather pillows that were not comfortable.

Very clean and well maintained.

Older motel, not fancy but very clean. Bed was comfortable enough. Desk clerk was very friendly and polite. Overall a good experience. We have family in Washington and have stayed at the other hotel in town. Hawkeye was definitely cleaner better maintained. This will be our hotel choice from now on.

Even though this is obviously an older property, it was very clean, and I was impressed with how the manager went out of his way to welcome me, including giving me a welcome gift of bottled water and a snack. Definitely unexpected, as was the wide selection of TV channels!

The staff were friendly and helpful. The area surrounding the motel was pretty quiet and safe. However, the hotel room was extremely hot and muggy upon arrival. We ended up moving rooms because the air wasn’t working. It took awhile before the air cooled the other room as well. It would be nice if they turned air on prior to arrival.

First impressions mean alot & the outside of the property does need to be maintained better- keeping grass mowed, pulling weeds out of flower beds, etc.. The room itself was very clean & functional. The bed was comfy & I had plenty of hot water for shower. Manager was very nice at check in. The refrigerator in my room did not have ice box which was disappointing as I use ice packs for my cooler. For the price, & cleanliness of room, it ended up being a nice stay. This motel is listed as pet friendly online & I did bring my dog which I kept crated when I was gone. I was charged $20 for a service fee which I felt was a reasonable price.

Hawkeye motel in Washington, Iowa is a great value. Management is doing a great job renovating the facility and are very responsive to guests needs. Located on the west side of town, it is on the main drag and easy to find, just north of the railroad bridge. Washington, Iowa is a classic midwestern town with lots of history. The airport has two runways and usually very competitive fuel prices.

My room had an odor to it. Can't really describe the odor. But, just arrived home, and every piece of clothing and fabric bags have absorbed that order. Hopefully, washing the clothes will get rid of the odor. I don't know if the fabric bags will air out over time. It has to be something really bad to have been absorbed by things in the 40 hours I had the room. Will never stay there again and can't recommend it to anyone because I don't know if all rooms have the odor problem. Was a last resort place to begin with. I should have asked for a different room as soon as I checked in, but didn't, because at that time, I didn't realize how bad it was. I checked in and immediately went to an event. Slept there, and then immediately left for the day and evening. Slept there and checked out. I hope it isn't something that will effect my health!
