Like most other reviews I agree that the hotel is nothing to rave about - windows had duct tape, the ceilings are water stained and the carpets are who knows how old. The rooms are pretty bare and depressing - tv has basic cable, no Netflix, or the like. That being said, when I saw the room I kind of expected to see bugs with how poor the upkeep was, but everything was surprisingly clean. No dust in the corners, my feet didn’t turn black walking barefoot in the room - so ultimately it was fine for it’s purpose. The 4 stars comes from the location - it’s central location, only two blocks from the National Mall, and it’s reasonable price made the lack of luxury worth it. It was only one block from fords theater, DC gifts (where we did all our souvenir shopping), Starbucks, chipotle, shake shack, all easy walking distance. Excellent location outweighs everything else.
