  • One of the oldest mansions in Walla Walla, this house was built around 1880 and now serves as a museum depicting daily Victorian life on the frontier. From the website: When built, the Kirkman’s home was one of the grandest residences in Walla Walla reflecting tastes of the day and wealth generated by the ranching business. Now the Victorian Italianate house remains the only example of its kind locally, though vestiges of early 20th century architecture can be found throughout Walla Walla. In its heyday, the house was the setting for lavish entertaining, as well as for routine activities of daily American Victorian life. In addition to being home for the Kirkman’s, it also served as a boys’ dormitory for Whitman College from 1920-1924. During this time Walter Brattain, 1956 Nobel Prize winner for the co-invention of the transistor, studied in the home. The house was elected to the National Historic Register in December of 1974 and has been run as a non-profit organization since 1981.

WW Vacation

The property was very, very clean. The location was perfect for visiting the downtown area and to enjoy the many wonderful dining facilities. It was centrally located to visit wineries that were not in the downtown area. It was very quiet. As a person who likes to cook, I thought the kitchen was well equipped. I would highly recommend this property. I hope to be able to stay there again on my next trip to Walla Walla.

This is a clean, well-located place to stay in Walla Walla. Easy walking to the Main Street with shopping and restaurants and wineries. Patty was super responsive and helpful and the whole experience was great. You can hear the upstairs tenants but that’s just condo/apartment living!

Condo was clean, well-appointed, and Michael was communicative. We even requested a small folding banquet table so we could have a dinner for 6, as many of the restaurants could not accommodate our party. Michael graciously provided that for us.

Excellent and very prompt communication with manager. The house was perfect and well decorated. Bathroom shower and tub were so relaxing, king bed was very comfortable. Could not ask for a better location to downtown. Didn’t get to use the outdoor courtyard but was very accessible, clean, and quiet. Will definitely be returning. Thanks so much!

The Modern

This VRBO has been entirely updated. And not just updated, but very nicely updated. It's conveniently located walking distance from restaurants and wine tasting facilities. Only drawback was street noise especially on Saturday night and landscaping crews that start way too early in the morning, but our host was going to talk to them to see if they could start later in the future.

Better Than Advertised

This was the perfect place for a weekend-wine getaway for my spouse and I. The apartment was absolutely stunning with a modern but cozy set of decor. We loved that the location was really close to downtown which made it easy to walk to wine tastings, meals and entertainment. At the same time it was far enough from main street which made it nice and quiet. Our host was also fantastic. She gave us great recommendations and was there for anything we could have needed. This may have been our best rental experience yet! There was no way we could have been happier - I hope to have the chance to stay here again.

Perfect, in-town, for a couple

New construction (and all that implies) in a town where re-habs are more the norm - maybe a little less charm, but all the modern comforts and a very "clean" modern design. No stairs to get in, either. Very fully equipped - we actually cooked our Thanksgiving dinner here and since this was football nirvana the monster of a TV was frankly way bigger than what we have at home. The thing I think is best is that the location is really close to the Main Street action, but just outside the crazy noise zone, just a half block away from single family homes and two from Main Street. Also, the host provides a flurry of contact, guide and assistance opportunities. I would definitely stay here again.
