Hotel Stadt Melk

10/10 Excellent

"Even though the hotel is on the main square in Old Town, it’s surprisingly quiet. The village itself is very clean and peaceful. My room faced the square and had a balcony with an awning and seating. Picture perfect. The weather was hot during my stay, but with the provided fan and the open windows, the room stayed comfortable, even for a midday break. Complements for the excellent linens! So comfortable and cool. Breakfast was seasonal and local, and the staff at reception and breakfast were friendly and helpful."

"We were there only for 1 night, on a Sunday, so the hotel had very few guests, and there was little open in town. The hotel is in walking distance to the train station. The breakfast was very nice. The front desk, and the bar, closes completely around 7:30-8 daily. Once it's closes you can only enter in through a side door with a key card."

"I received my code on time and had no trouble finding the hotel; check-in was super easy. The room was clean, as were the bathroom and bed. The room was quite spacious. I would suggest adding a mini-fridge for food and drinks. Or they could have some vending machines with drinks and snacks inside the hotel. "

"This hotel is clean and cozy and perfectly situated to visit old town in Melk, including the abbey. So fun to step out the door onto a charming street full of cafes and shops. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful and the free breakfast buffet is absolutely fantastic! I appreciate that the windows in the rooms open fully and also the fun little jars of candy at the checkout desk and restaurant for guests to sample. Tasty!"
