"If you want a nice, peaceful, away from everything kind of place, then this is your stop. Up on top of the mountains, you have a fantastic view all around you. It is very quiet and you can sleep peacefully. The rooms are quite basic, no fridge, soap stuffs, but it is still a great lodge. The owners are very nice and amazing folks who will do what they can to make your stay pleasant. This was definitely a relaxing stay for me."

"The location is pretty, breakfast was good and hotel overall is in good shape. They really should consider installing air conditioners since the weather has gotten so hot in most of Europe. It was very difficult to sleep. The temp dropped a bit but very late at night and the fans were just circulating hot air. "

"We rented Apartment 3, two bedrooms plus a loft that comfortably slept our party of five. The apartment is very nicely finished, preserving the old world character but adding modern amenities like a dishwater and espresso machine! "The hotel is very well located for accessing the city center. There is a beautiful park nearby. Motorcycle parking is available in the hotel garden, which is closed overnight. The staff were very friendly and offered a full breakfast with eggs upon request."

"If you’re planning to visit Melk Abbey, be aware that Hotel Donauhof is not within walking distance—you’ll need to take a taxi, which costs about €16 each way. Alternatively, there's a bus that runs only once per hour. The hotel provides no in-room amenities—not even, tea or bottled water—and there is no air conditioning, which can be uncomfortable in the warmer months after June. There are no activity area around the hotel, with no restaurants nearby except the hotel’s own. During our stay, the elevator was out of order, and we had to carry our suitcases up the stairs. If you're visiting Melk Abbey, I would recommend staying in Melk itself. You'll find similar or lower prices, access to a charming small town, and several dining options within walking distance. "

"Our group only had 1 night here. The stay was pretty comfortable, although it was quite difficult sharing 1 bathroom amongst 5 adults, but we managed. Space was sufficient for us and overall stay was comfortable. Only thing was that floor of the room was like stone/concrete, which didn’t seem comfortable to walk around barefooted. Thankfully we had slippers. There is no free parking onsite, but there is street side parking."
