"Great overnight stop after a late afternoon train from Folkestone. Plenty of free parking on site. Room are basic but perfectly adequate for a night stop on route to Southern France. Has a kettle and tea and coffee facilities. Nice seating area both inside and out for an evening drink. Had a meal in the restaurant which was delicious and well priced. The bar staff and waitress were attentive and engaging. Good night sleep before heading off for an early start so cannot comment on the breakfast. Would definitely stay here again. "

"The staff were all excellent, the room wonderful and the grounds pretty - a great overall sense of quiet and calm I did not like the booking experience with Expedia however - the photo linked with the room I booked was not correct and over-inflated expectation. When the hotel realised they changed the picture and offered us a free upgrade"

"We stopped at La Mansarde enroute to a tour of the war graves and memorials in France & Belgium. Our host Jacqueline was an absolute diamond, and what we both lacked in fluency in the native tongue of the other, was suitably accommodated via translation tools. La Mansarde is truly beautiful, very comfortable, within walking distance of fine restaurants and with the most brilliant host. I will stop in five other establishments across the duration of this trip, and nothing else will surpass La Mansarde."
