A microwave would’ve been nice but not essential as we managed nicely with the electric hobs. The beds were very comfortable and everything was lovely and clean. "This is a perfect holiday location....the apartment has everything you need & was spotlessly clean. Gengenbach is probably the prettiest town we saw in the Black Forest & a fantastic base to explore the region. We stayed 11 nights & used the train on the Konus card scheme every day bar 1.....great for taking the stress away & having a German beer or 2! Anja was fantastic in welcoming us & giving lots of tips on where to eat etc....she was always at the end of the phone if we had a question....

"Probably wouldn’t recommend. Firstly, there was no microwave. This was not a major issue but just an inconvenience because we were able to heat up food via the oven. My wife was very displeased with the fact that we adopted a used sponge for the dishes. The stovetop was very uncooperative and took forever to heat up and never heated to a boil for water. There were issues with insects that mainly just bothered my children. We also noticed the light fixture above our bed needed to be cleaned as...

"It's all about location, and this is a prime one! The unit itself was clean and a great size for the two of us. We like to cook on our trips, and the kitchen was a little sparse, but it was fine, and everything else was great. Hosts were very friendly and helpful (as was their dog - friendly, I mean). "Conveniently located within walking distance to the train station. Room was clean and comfortable. I didn't like that the smoking area is right at the front entrance. A couple of times, I had to wiggle my way into the lobby through all the smokers. My room was just above the entrance, so I could not open the windows, otherwise all the smoke would get in. Other than that, its an affordable/conveniente/clean place to stay."
