We had a two day stay and our first room we were not happy with because we found hair on the bed and there was dirt all over the floor. We went to the office and asked for another room and she was very happy to get us another room. The staff were 10/10. Our second room was better but not by much. Room service also never came through to clean and I believe the lady who helped us wears all the hats. She was awesome but very overworked. Over all staff is good as possible but the stay was not satisfactory for what we paid.

This is an older hotel that is in need of significant updates. The rooms, furniture, bedding, pillows, and blankets all felt outdated, and our room had a noticeable smell of cigarette smoke mixed with other unpleasant odors. If you’re looking for a modern hotel with amenities, this probably isn’t the best choice. The hotel does not offer breakfast or other amenities, but parking is included, which is convenient. The biggest advantage of this hotel is its excellent location. It’s only about a five-minute walk to the beach and close to many restaurants, shops, and attractions, making it a good base for exploring Virginia Beach. I also want to recognize the wonderful lady at the front desk. She has apparently worked there for many years, and her kindness and willingness to help made a huge difference in our stay. She went above and beyond to assist us with everything we needed and was by far the best part of our experience. Overall, this is a budget-friendly hotel that serves its purpose if you simply need a place to sleep while spending your days enjoying Virginia Beach. Just don’t expect modern accommodations or resort-style amenities.

I’m not one to care about the venues I stay in, but this was the first time I wasn’t pleased. The photos on the web look nicer than the room I was in. The closet didn’t have a bar to hang my clothes. The towels looked old. Maybe the venue needs a facelift. It was conveniently close to the beach so that was a plus. I will say that I’m not disappointed with service. It did its job at the end of the day. A place to set my things, shower, and sleep. Definitely not a place to bring a partner or family. Didn’t hate it but didn’t love it. Lesson learned.. hotels might be the best option for me going forward.

The staff is very nice and the motel is in a safe location, however, you need to be okay with the lack of room cleanliness. The bed sheets and such were definitely clean, just lack of floor/kitchenette/bathroom were not the best.

The White Marlin was actually rather surprising, in the best way. From the outward look one may think "oh Lord it's run down", but looks mean nothing! The rooms were super clean and quiet. The staff was so nice and friendly. And the surrounding area was full of things to do and see

This property is currently being renovated to attract more clientele. Michael was extremely affable and responsive. He cares about the property and is working hard to make upgrades. The best part of the room is the huge T.V. screens. Some are cable, mine was Roku. All rooms also have a full size fridge with freezer. Also a plus was a table and chairs to sit down and eat. The beds are very comfy. At first the water temp was just warm, but after asking Michael the water was very hot.

You can tell they are on their way to improvement...but theyre just not there yet. It felt unsafe. There was ash and leaves on the sheet, a ball of hair on the floor, stained and irregular towels in the bathroom, rusted sliding lock, and capped but exposed visible wires on the doorframe. We ended up leaving that night because we didnt feel clean or safe. But there are visible improvements. The kitchen area was definitely improved and there was a nice television. They will get there, they just arent thete yet. The staff was friendly and understanding.

When we arrived the person at the front desk was very nice to us though he was drinking a beer on the job. The outside of the building was very rundown and the office was not as depicted in the photos. When we went to our room it was very dirty on the floors tables and bed. There was flakes of dirt on all the surfaces and there were visible pee stains on the sheets and mattresses. The toilet was clogged with a large quantity of poop that would flush. Overall felt too unclean and unsanitary to stay so we checked out right after viewing the room. The hotel would not give us the money back because they said that the room was fine.
