Loved this place. Beautiful vintage style hotel in the middle of old town Valparaiso. The staff were all excellent, especially Bastian and Hector. Will definitely come back next time we’re in Valparaiso.

This was a lovely property and the view from our room was great. We had a small deck which overlooked the street and the harbour beyond - it was so wonderful to enjoy the fresh air. In order to get into the hotel we had to go up many steep steps from the street. Had we known, we would not have booked a room there. The streets were narrow and very steep so the location was not a good choice for us (we are in our 70's). The gentleman who checked us in was very gracious when we indicated that we needed to move to a different hotel. He arranged for us to get transportation and helped the driver with our luggage. Of course, we covered the cost of the room.

Our stay at the Somercales Hotel was comfortable and it is located in the most beautiful neighbourhood of Valparaiso. Also, they serve a great breakfast each morning. But what we loved the best is the staff. The people that work at this hotel are so kind and warm. They really make you feel at home and do everything possible to make your stay enjoyable!

The Thomas Somerscales is a charming boutique hotel, The location is very convenient for sightseeing and walking to wonderful restaurants. The outside porch areas were so welcoming to sit with a Pisco sour and relax after a day of walking! We felt like we were invited into a historic home. Hector at the front desk was so pleasant and helpful, always greeted us with a smile. The breakfast was a lovely , fresh fruit, fresh juice, cold meats and pastries, served in a vintage dining room. Our stay there was fantastic and would highly recommend this hotel!
