About this property

The Quiet Drake on Puckaway Lake

  • Listing summary

Wake to wide-open lake views at The Quiet Drake, a restored two-bedroom cabin at the former Winther’s Resort on Lake Puckaway. Designed for up to four guests, it features two queen bedrooms, a full kitchen, a comfortable living area, one full bath with a stand-up shower, and a private deck with cheerful yellow chairs. Original duck artwork gives the cabin its name. Enjoy the shared shoreline, dock, and fire pit, with the public boat ramp less than a block away.

    The space

Some lake cabins ask you to choose between charm and comfort. The Quiet Drake offers both. Part of the former Winther’s Resort, this restored two-bedroom cabin pairs Lake Puckaway history with a bright, easygoing interior. Framed duck artwork from the original resort gives the cabin its name and a genuine sense of place.

Inside, up to four guests have two queen bedrooms, a full kitchen, an open living and dining area, and one full bathroom with a stand-up shower. Wide windows keep the lake in view from the main room, while the private deck—with its cheerful yellow chairs—is made for morning coffee, evening drinks, and watching the sky change.

Outside, the property opens to a shared shoreline, dock, and fire pit. Spend the day fishing, boating, exploring nearby marsh country, or simply slowing down by the water. The Marquette public boat ramp is less than a block away, and boat-trailer parking is available with advance notice.

This is a thoughtfully restored cabin in real Wisconsin lake country: relaxed, close to nature, and centered on the water.

    Guest access

Guests have private use of the entire cabin and its deck, including two queen bedrooms, the kitchen, living and dining area, and full bathroom.

The shoreline, fire pit, and dock are shared with guests staying in the other cabins. Free on-site parking is available. Boat-trailer parking and pier access are available with advance notice.

The Marquette public boat ramp is less than a block away. Please contact us before arrival if you are bringing a boat or trailer so we can provide parking and docking guidance. The pier is on a shallow private bay, and all docking is at the guest’s own risk.

    Neighborhood overview

The Quiet Drake sits in the small lakeside village of Marquette, where Lake Puckaway, open farmland, and surrounding marshes set an unhurried pace.

Tucked Away Bar & Grill is next door. Fuel, ice, diner fare, and basic provisions are about 10 minutes away at BP/Wayside, while the nearest full grocery shopping is in Markesan.

Princeton is about 15–20 minutes away for Saturday flea-market mornings, antiques, bakeries, independent shops, and Fox River scenery. Green Lake is about 22–30 minutes away for supper clubs, golf, waterfront dining, and conservancy trails.

The wider area is known for fishing, boating, paddling, birdwatching, hunting, country drives, and memorable sunrises and sunsets.

Feel free to ask us for recommendations.

    Getting around

A car is strongly recommended. This is rural lake country, and groceries, guides, restaurants, and most attractions require a short drive.

Free on-site parking is available. Guests bringing a boat or trailer must contact us in advance for parking instructions. The Marquette public boat ramp is less than a block away, making lake access convenient.

    Other things to note

Please expect a true waterfront-and-woods setting. Our cleaning team takes excellent care of the cabin, but occasional bugs, spiders, and mosquitoes are part of lake life.

Several other structures on the property are undergoing renovation. No work will take place during your stay, but these areas are closed and must not be entered.

The cabin does not have closets. Coat hooks near the entrance and nightstands in both bedrooms provide storage.

The shoreline, fire pit, and dock are shared. The pier sits on a shallow private bay, water conditions can vary, and docking is at your own risk. Contact us before arrival if you plan to bring a boat or trailer.

Sportsmen are welcome; please leave wet or muddy boots outside.

The nearest convenience store, fuel stop, and diner are approximately 10 minutes away.
