The best area to stay in Vilacova is along the coastline near the town centre, particularly around the Praia de San Roque and Praia do Terrón areas.

This central coastal strip offers the most convenience and access to the town's amenities. You'll find a good selection of restaurants, cafes, and local shops within easy walking distance. The promenade connecting these beaches is superb for leisurely strolls, and you'll have direct access to the sandy shores. The harbour, with its fishing boats, is also nearby, adding to the local character.

For couples looking for a relaxing getaway with easy access to good food and scenic walks, staying near Praia de San Roque is ideal. It's a pleasant area with a calm atmosphere, close enough to the main square and the seafood restaurants that Vilacova is known for. You can enjoy the sea views and the convenience of having everything you need nearby without feeling overwhelmed.

Families often find the area around Praia do Terrón particularly appealing. This beach is generally well-maintained and offers space for children to play. Many accommodations here are apartments or villas that provide more room, and some even have private pools.

The best time to visit Vilacova is during the summer months, from June to September, when the weather is warm and sunny, great for enjoying the coast.

During this period, the average temperatures range from 20°C to 28°C, making it ideal for beach activities, exploring the Ría de Arousa, and dining outdoors. The longer daylight hours also mean more time for sightseeing and enjoying the local culture. This is especially good for families, as the calm waters of the Ría de Arousa are well-suited for children.

For those looking to avoid the busiest crowds but still enjoy pleasant weather, late spring (May) and early autumn (October) are also excellent choices. The temperatures are milder, usually between 15°C and 22°C, and there are fewer tourists, allowing for a more relaxed experience.
