"The hotel is superb. The location is good, you can walk to Baveno and Stresa. The whole hotel just feels very classy, the staff are extremely attentive and it's exceptionally well priced. We cant work out why it's not a 5 star hotel. We will certainly be coming back."

"Fabulous hotel with helpful and welcoming staff. Great views of Lake Maggiore and surrounding mountains especially from the rooftop terrace. Breakfast was a joy in the gorgeous dining room opened up to the outside terrace. Walk into Stresa town centre would be difficult for anyone with difficulties as it was almost 1 mile. For us it was a fantastic stroll along the lakefront promenade - what a vista! Ferry boats to the Borremean Islands and many places around Lake Maggiore go from the dock at Carciano which is just a few minutes walk from Hotel Royal. Perfect location. And we loved the vases filled with hydrangeas making the reception, bar and seating areas such a pleasure to sit and relax. Thanks to all for a lovely stay."

"Fantastic location - great room overlooking lake and swimming pool. Staff very attentive . Only downside very noisy one evening with a group of people using the pool in the early hours they finally finished at 03.00am not what I expected of such an up market hotel "

"Good value, slightly long walk (or €15 taxi) to town centre. Room clean and basic. Air conditioning not great."

"Lovely, central location. Secure parking. Reasonable 0.6/kwh car charging on site. Short walk to boats to visit the islands. Incredibly friendly, helpful staff. Kettle in room, but bring your own tea bags 👍"
