The air conditioning unit was not working. It would have been nice to have received some sort of discount on the room, as we were paying for a room that we assumed had fully functioning amenities, including but not limited to a working a/c unit.

Basic but clean and in a good location for shopping, dining and the beach. Downside is it was a bit chilly and we were told at checkin our rooms heat was broken. Had to ask for extra blankets. I’d stay here again if the heat works next time or I’d come later in the year when the weather is warmer. Overall nothing fancy but the price is fantastic.

This was a perfect stay. All we needed was a simple and clean place to sleep and this location was just that. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The only thing that was missing was a hair blower and iron. Other than that everything was great.

Rented 2 rooms. 1 for my kids 19 and 11 and 1 for me and my wife. Heater didn’t work, no hot water in both rooms. 1 towel per room. When we told the manager he didn’t care. He was very rude until I checked after the first night

A better than average Motel 6 experience. The shower head in my room was damaged, but the maintenance guy showed up later in the afternoon to repair it. My only serious complaint would be the noise. The location is next to the highway, and the rooms are not well sound proofed, so expect a noisy stay.

great location
it's a motel 6, so don't expect the Ritz! but location is great as it is between downtown and the beach, so you're able to walk to one or the other with ease!

Although backed up to the 101, you don't really hear the noise from the highway. You mostly hear all the activity from California Street but that's why you would choose this location. It is the best rate you can get to be a block away. Walls are a little thin as I could hear the TV above my room. My room was clean and most furnishings are relatively new. Overall, very cost-efficient stay for a Beach area.

Motel 6- section 8 housing
There’s a lot of mentally ill and addicts staying at this motel6. Possible rooms bought by the city for them. Homeless people hang around the building and sleep in cars on the hotel lot. A lot of desperate screaming coming from other rooms and a lot of yelling throughout the night. Even by motel6 standards, this was especially bad.

Enjoyed my time here for a quick stay over the holiday weekend. Coffee shop, pizza shop within 3 minute walk, corner store for water or snacks. Room was clean and great staff. Had my dog with me and had absolutely no issues, very pet friendly! All other customers there were very nice when saying hello! Would stay again

Good value
Basic hotel with no frills. Clean and comfy. Good location for walking. Close to good restaurants, pubs and shopping. A little noisy as it's on a busy street. No complaints and priced right.

The rooms were very well maintained and clean. The bed was comfortable, and it was a very pleasant stay. The neighborhood isn't horrible, but it is not the best. Good place to eat down the block The Surfer's Cafe with fresh and organic food.

My wife likes the shower. We had a newer, larger refrigerator in the room that kept everything cold. A few tenants on the property were a bit noisy one of our three nights stay. Overall, satisfied with experience.

Good hotel for the price and location. Super convenient to get onto Hwy 101, and very walkable to downtown area with lots of breweries, restaurants, cafes and more. The room overall was not bad, had basic amenities including a microwave and mini fridge. Beds were ok. Overall good experience I’d stay here again.

I attended an event at the nearby Fairgrounds. I parked my car and didn’t have to move it for three days because I could walk to the beach, mission, restaurants, downtown, the mission, etc. all in less than 1/2 mile from the Motel. That being said, the area around the hotel has a lot of unhoused people near the train tracks and highway, but it didn’t detract or deter too much from my visit or sense of safety.
