About this property

Cottage with views and private sauna

  • Here you can find peace in nature, enjoy good food, use the sauna, and decide for yourselves how active you want to be. The cabin offers a beautiful view of the hills and is surrounded by nature and farmland, with plenty of space to relax or fill your days with activities.

Inside, the cabin is modern and comfortable, yet furnished with antique furniture, pictures, and artifacts that reflect the history of the place. You can eat in the kitchen, in the living room, on the terrace, out in the garden, or in the summer living room in the annex. The three beds on the second floor are 120 cm wide, with plenty of room for two children or a couple.

Right behind the cabin lies a lush forest with old trees, a babbling brook, and plenty of mushrooms and berries in the fall. The municipality’s highest point, Oksla, is just a few minutes’ walk away. Tractor roads and forest trails take you into the wilderness on foot or on skis.

Sandland is a sandy beach with a kiosk, a 15-minute drive away. If you’d like to swim in privacy, there are several lakes in the area. There’s also an amusement park, a zoo, a water park, rock climbing, axe throwing, and disc golf within driving distance. History buffs can explore the log flume in Vennesla, the mineral museum, or ride the vintage train on the Setesdal Railway.

We’ve had five wonderful days in Hægeland. Knapen is a fantastic country estate that’s sure to help you relax. It’s a cozy house with a great mix of modern and historic interiors. The garden offers plenty of space to roam and many areas for dining, relaxing, and activities. Among other things, we explored the lovely Sandland swimming spot, the log flume in Vennesla, the Mineral Park in Evje, and Kristiansand. We’d also like to highlight the excellent and prompt communication with our host, Magnus. We’d love to come back! Best regards, Heidi and family
