Given that this was our first visit and we didn’t know Venice at all, I feel we were very fortunate and landed in a really special place in choosing to stay at Ca’ Vendramin Zago. It’s a beautiful historic palazzo which we found to be in the perfect location for us as it was away from the crowded locations but near to everything we wanted to visit also with some lovely discoveries in the immediate area. It was so quiet and peaceful too. The beauty of the building inside and out added to our experience and also the amazing staff who were warm, friendly and helpful. Special mention to Nicola, Alessandro and Michaela. The hotel was immaculate and we had all we needed for a very comfortable stay. I am dairy free and this was catered for. I would love to return to Venice and if we do would definitely choose to stay here again.

Rooms have nice tall ceilings. Clean modern rooms. Quiet. A little far from main attractions but one expects to walk in Venice anyway. Closer to transportation like train and bus than Castello area especially when lugging your luggage!

We loved our stay at the hotel. The hotel was very clean, good breakfast and was in walking distance to the Train station, San Marco and Rialto bridge. Also the service was very good. I would stay here again.

Ca' Vendramin Zago is a gem of a hotel in a grand palazzo building with original features and lots of charm. It is ideally situated in a quiet residential area just a stone's throw from Venice's main avenue and walking distance from vaporetto stops and all major sights. If you are in a position to, it is well worth booking a canal view suite. I was lucky enough to stay in the suite with the main balcony at the front of the hotel and wow, I felt like royalty! There was a warm and friendly welcome from all of the staff, particularly Alessandro on the evening shift who arranged me an airport water taxi, and a delicious breakfast to set you up for a day's exploring. It's a home from home and I hope to be back! Thanks for a great stay

All the staff was kind and welcoming. The room was small but very clean and had everything we needed. The bathroom had everything and great hot water pressure too. Breakfast was in a beautiful dining room, and the waitress makes wonderful lattes and cappuccinos. I would stay here again.

Nice hotel that included free breakfast. Receptionist were nice and very helpful. Room was clean the only thing was that I didn’t like was that thru only cleaned our room once during our stay there and when I told the receptionist he said they have a cleaning crew that was not part of the hotel. Breakfast was good and lady was really nice. Close to shops and restaurants. I recommend.

The fully Venice experience
Wonderful stay in an historic palazzo with beautifully decorated rooms with original frescoes. A real experience for a cozy stay. Nice breakfast in the hallway. Excellent reception and welcome service by Alessandro, the receptionist. It was great to get advice on what to do see and do by a native Venetian.

Wonderful staff and location
The warmest welcome from Alessandro on arrival who walked us to our room and made dinner reservations at a local restaurant (definitely trust his choices!) . He also gave us local information and tips which enriched our visit. The room (a junior suite) was large and very comfortable, in a traditional style. Could be updated a little as the furniture looks tired. It was clean and the toiletries provided (in eco friendly refillable packaging which i like) were very nice. Clean fluffy towels. Breakfast was great. Apologies for forgetting the name of the wonderful woman who prepared it. The eggs were the best I've had at any hotel! Plenty of choice and a lovely dining room to enjoy it in. I was presented with a little tiramisu with a candle on the morning of my birthday. A very thoughtful touch and much appreciated. The location was perfect for us. Away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to everything you could wish for. Ask Alessandro for local places to eat,drink and shop. You won't be disappointed! We will definitely return to this hotel for the excellent and genuinely dedicated staff. They made our trip extre special.

Former Palace on a Small Canal - Fantastic!
I can't recommend this hotel enough. The location was perfect, on a small canal in Cannaregio, very close the Strada Nova and walkable to all the sites. Our room was amazing! It was a former chapel and the ceiling was gorgeous! The hotel staff were absolutely the best! A huge shout out to Beneditta at the front desk and Silvia, who prepared breakfast and our coffees each day! They couldn't have been more helpful! Thank you Silvia for your list of favorite cecchetti bars! I will recommend this hotel to any friend who visits Venice!

Cute, clean, boutique hotel with great breakfast. Staff was amazing, all very helpful and friendly. Everything we needed or asked for was provided to us without hesitation. Great location. Only down side is current construction in front of the hotel. Workers start early and can be loud, but we were up early to take advantage of the shorter days due to sunset time.

We stayed 12 nights in total and the staff couldn’t have been kinder or more helpful. The room we had was stunning and the entire property was beautiful and felt luxurious, while still being comfortable. We will stay here the next time we visit Venice. Truly an exceptional property and staff!

I was hoping for elegant dilapidated and it was definitely heavier on the elegant side! Breakfast was nothing to get excited over, but our room was gorgeous and huge and had every amenity.

Loved this hotel and all of their staff. Beautiful, clean and spacious rooms. The staff was very accommodating when my niece decided to come with us last minute. Great location easy walking distance to everything. Will definitely stay here again when I come back.

I put a lot of stock in reviews and booked our stay at Ca' Vandramin Zago based on guest reviews in this price range. Overall, the hotel was genuinely nice. The location was excellent, as was the staff and we were only there for 2 nights. We were only able to enjoy one breakfast due to our itinerary, but it was also very nice. That said, neither of us were able to sleep due to being eaten alive by mosquitoes. The hotel does not have air conditioning, which was ok for an October visit, but leaving the windows open was a huge mistake. We had to pull the sheets up over our heads, and still left with many mosquito bites on our upper bodies and including our face. If you plan to stay here, please include a defense against mosquitoes.

We have travelled a fair bit and it is rare to come across a group of people working in a hotel who are all lovely and helpful in such a genuine way. They made our stay comfortable and relaxing. We will recommend this hotel to all our friends and definitely return ourselves.

Great staff, great coffee!
We very much enjoyed our stay - the hotel is located in a great position. Just off the busy tourist area but within easy reach of vaporettos and the Rialto Bridge. Good choice of breakfast apart from cooked food which was limited to scrambled egg and bacon every day. Almost made up for by the pancakes and the coffee which was wonderful. Disappointed that there was no bar - just drinks in the room's minibar. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable and our room (208) had a very good sized living area with a view of a courtyard.

There is shopping round the corner, but we picked for easy walk to main railway station, yet far enough. In a quiet area. Transport services round corner if needed. But let’s be honest Venice is to be explored on foot, to enjoy the experience of it all. The hotel was clean breakfast was a choice of everything. Staff were great, very helpful and knowledgable. Highly recommend if looking for a hotel that is not next to Piazza San Marco. Highly recommend.

This will be my go to hotel in Venice. The location was quiet, but very close to a main walking street for easy access to shopping and dining. The breakfast was delicious and an excellent value. The service and attention to detail at this hotel was exemplary. I also adored the design of the modern suite. I travel regularly, and this will be one of the few hotels that was hard to leave. It made my trip to Venice perfect.
