We stay there whenever in Venice. The staff is friendly and accommodating to all requests. The terrace on Grand Canal is a wonderful place for hanging out and the hotel is an easy walk from St. Marks, museums and designer shops. Breakfast is included and abundant, and drinks and/or snacks outside on the terrace is a joy in good weather. The 7th-floor bar and restaurant provide a breathtaking panorama of the city.

Property is located central Venice but offers very little for simple cup of coffee in morning Nothing available unless you want to spend 45 Euro per person on breakfast I also expected for the price a view of the water

Amazing experience breakfast and dinner overlooking Grand Canal. Only disappointment was dinner at rooftop restaurant. Staff was excellent and Hotel ideal location. Its own dock for water taxi arrival.

Really liked the Bauer. Amazing location to launch into various neighborhoods in Venice. Somewhat touristy and heavy with high end retail. While the room was a bit less modern than other hotel options it was clean and sufficed for our stay. The staff was very friendly and responsive. The rooftop bar was a highlight.

The Bauer is about to close for a 2 year major and much-needed remodeling that will upgrade the entire property which is old and tired. But I have to say the room I had was excellent, spotless and extremely comfortable. And the location on the Grand Canal is perfect.

Really enjoyed staying at the Baur. They provided free transportation to Murano & Burano. Location is great! Breakfast was great on the water with heaters for cool mornings outside.

A beautiful hotel right on the Grand Canal. The staff are friendly and provide excellent service. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The location is excellent, as it's within walking distance of many top tourist destinations.

Have been to Venice many times, but was celebrating a special birthday and decided to go to a grand hotel on the canal. This is not it. When we arrived, and started to check in, it was relatively easy. However, when we got to our room, we discovered that there was no key for the safe. When we called the front desk, they informed us they would bring up the key. 40 minutes later the key does not arrive, so we had to go back down to the front desk and they had to find the key. Also on the same day we had requested an extra pillow, that of course, did not arrive either until much much later. Our room was large but very, very tired and dark as it had zero view/natural light from any window. The hotel staff was pleasant although totally ineffective. When we ordered a water taxi to get to the mainland, they told us that it would be about a 10 min wait, and even gave us the water taxi number of the boat to be on the lookout when it arrive. It did arrive and they gave it away to someone else…it took a long time for us to get any water taxi, even though they were lined up at the hotel waiting for passengers. If you are looking for a special Venice hotel, skip this one. They seem to cater to small and medium size tourist groups and are not interested in the individual traveler. I would say it was not worth the money.

A great location, just off St. Mark's Square. configuration of floors and elevators is odd. Staff was friendly, not very helpful. Room was clean and spacious, a bit worn out. Refrigerator in room non-functional. Roof top Bar and breakfast both nice areas, but very pricey.... (Breakfast buffet $5, Standard Martini $30).

Old world charm with modern day luxury!
We had the most incredible stay at the Bauer in Venice. The room was exquisite, spacious with an incredible view!!! The staff and service were beyond friendly and helpful. We felt fully taken care of! The location is always central which makes for getting around very easy. We came to see the Biennale and it was beyond inspiring! Can not wait to return!!!

Luxury with an excellent location
The stay was fantastic. The location of the hotel was 2nd to none and the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The De Pisis restaurant was very good and the rooftop bar was amazing. I would stay again on a return trip to Venice.

The hotel itself was grand walking in, but our room made no sense. It was huge, with a large sitting room for no apparent purpose, a sofa that apparently was taken off of the titanic, holes in the fabric and legs broken off. Looked like a former furniture storage room. Chairs that were very worn. Underwhelmed to say the least.

Generally a really nice hotel with friendly staff. Room lovely but very dark. Bathroom a bit dated. Disappointed that we didn’t get the free bottle of wine we were supposed to have.

Aside from it having a great location, I was not impressed for the price. I’ve stayed at less expensive places that have blown away my expectations. We got a suite upgrade which had nice fixtures and classic Venetian touches however the armrest on the couch was somewhat broken and when I called reception for an extra blanket since I was cold i was brought a child size blanket that barely covered my feet for our ‘king-sized’ bed ( 2twin beds put together). I can see the appeal for the hotel but definitely not worth the money. Sadly

A very nice, upscale property in a great location. 2 minute walk to San Marco square. Room was very nice - classic Venetian decor. I only wish they had outlets by the bed.

THIS IS NOT A 5* hotel! 3stars have been better. It is old, and they are scam artists the restaurant is overpriced and everything is dirty and falling apart.
