I had an enjoyable stay at the hotel. The location was close to the castle, breakfast was great and I could park my motorcycle in the underground garage.
Beautiful hotel! Clean, esthetic, friendly and conveniently located to the fortress and a short walk to the main road.
This hotel literally has the best towels and breakfast pastries ever ! Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Can you believe that this hotel is only 3 star, amazing place, very delicious typical bulgarian breakfast. Quite and comfortable room with large bed and AC climatisation.
Very young and friendly staff, large covered and outside parking place.
2 night stay. Great location just 5 mins walk to entrance fortifications and also sound and light. Elegant hotel with indoor Spa. Pool, sauna, steam room. Didn’t use as families enjoying. Super breakfast and reception staff particularly good.
The receptionist was excellent. As a foreigner, her welcome and kindness was above and beyond, thank you kindly. The rest of the staff were also amazing. I will never forget the woman at breakfast bringing me Mikitsi with icing sugar, and telling me eat…eat, so personal and sweet. The spa is included, except for the turkish bath, and it was clean and refreshing after a long day of travelling. The hottub could of been a little hotter and with more jets, but nevertheless good enough. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and when I return i will stay here again without a heartbeat!!
Receptionist was extremely rude, we arrived at our check in time of 2pm and was told to go away until 3pm, all we received was attitude and I had to argue that we were silver members and even showed proof our check in was 2pm. The same receptionist was also rude when we asked her to sort out the hot tub as it was luke warm and the water hurts weren’t working, she came in, pushed a button and was moaning that a technician needed to be called whilst walking away with attitude. We didn’t feel that we could ask her anything from there on in. Despite that the hotel was as lovely, clean and well maintained.
Here’s a Hotels.com-style review with a slightly more detailed, balanced tone:
Disappointing stay with major comfort and service issues
Our stay started off on a concerning note, as we were asked at check-in to leave a positive review in exchange for free sauna access. We were required to post the review immediately—before even receiving our room key—which felt misleading and unprofessional.
The room itself was visually nice, and the beds were comfortable. However, the air conditioning did not function properly, making the room extremely hot and humid. There was also a leak from the sink. Breakfast was average, and it was inconvenient that coffee could not be taken to the room—it was only allowed in the breakfast area or on the rooftop terrace.
On the second day, we were unexpectedly told to pack our belongings and change rooms, but when we went to reception, no room was available. Communication was difficult due to limited English from staff. After several hours, we were given a new room, which was similar but had the same issue with the air conditioning—running, but no actual cooling.
After two nights of very poor sleep due to the heat, we decided to leave early. When we explained the situation to the receptionist, who is also the owner, he reacted negatively and dismissively, insisting everything was working fine and telling us to leave if we were not satisfied. His behavior came across as aggressive and unprofessional.
Over all, would not recommend staying here
First rooom wet mildewed cartep, second room filthy shag, nasty front desk personnel on personal calls, a/c pathetic. Ads look great with. Spa (tepid jacuzzi), worst hotel on trip, 13th hotel a jinx. Would you like it here?
Our stay was short. We are satisfied from the service - the young lady on the reception desk immediately arrange a place for our car on-site parking . We do not have a time to use SPA. The breakfast was very good. It is our second staying here. And, I hope we will back again.
The property has been beautifully updated compared to the photos listed here. The staff was incredibly friendly and the bed felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. The location is walkable to the fortress and many restaurants. It was very quiet. The showers were pretty spacious and clean. Please note the use of the spa is an extra charge. They have a salt room/sauna, steam room, heated lounge chairs, a small pool and hot tub. The breakfast buffet had many options. The hotel was a great value!
Overall nice place but the floor under ours was in full construction mode. The one thing that bothered us a bit was the toilets which were almost fully see through. It is great to get some privacy. Mattress as well was a bit worn off and ready for a change.
Everything else was good
Didn’t like how the bathroom and shower were just glass. Zero privacy, n the bathroom door didn’t fully close. The bedroom was covered with carpet, which isn’t favourable since the bathroom door doesn’t fully close theres a solid chance that the water from the shower is getting the carpet wet
