1 Star. For location.
Really has gone down hill. Used to be my usual place to stay. No room service? Breakfast was terrible. Couldn’t eat it. Just really looks like they’re cutting corners.

We stated there for one night. Clean room, good beds. Really liked that they have focus on enviroment and ecologic food. Personal was not so friendly and there is no free parking under hotel. its costs. But otherwise good hotel for godd price.

Excellent rally base
We booked this hotel as a base for Rally Sweden, based 50km north in Hagfors. The hotel was in a perfect spot with great transport links and a short walk to the train station and city centre. The locals were very friendly (one even offered to walk us to the hotel from the train station), and we're happy to show off their excellent understanding of English. This added to the wonderful experience. The restaurant attached to the hotel was fair priced and a very comfortable dining experience, with breakfast being a particularly good deal. Other than this there were a large variety of restaurants or fast food joints within a comfortable walking distance. The only negative was the lack of a wardrobe in the bedroom; however the room was of high quality and a very cosy place to retire to after a long cold day out in the forests. In summery the Scandic Karlstad was an excellent hotel in a fantastic city. One that we will be returning to next year.

Bra läge. Nära centralstation. Bra bussförbindelser till ytterområden i Karlstad. Bra sängar men mindre bra kuddar. Alldeles för liten matsal vid frukost. Trångt och mycket spring runt borden. Jättefin frukostbuffé. Trevlig personal i reception. Frukostpersonalen behöver trimmas lite mer eller fler anställda på morgonen. Bott här flera gånger.
