The property is on a quiet street but literally around the corner from the main square, shops and restaurants and is modern, well maintained and the cleanest we have had in Colombia. "The original booking was for Tierra Roja, but the hotel was in a bad section of town and down very muddy roads. The hotel manager sent us to another hotel they managed, but didn’t adjust the price until we noticed that it was listed for quite a bit less on hotels.com. They agreed to a partial refund and we thought everything was fine. We were the only ones staying there and the lady who took care of the hotel left early. Just before midnight someone tried to break into our room. We scared them away and called the manager who was in another town didn’t answer right away. She sent the police, but the culprit had escaped. We tried communicating with the manager by phone and messaging, but she never responded so we spent a sleepless night worrying if they would return, locked in our room. The manager never answered our calls and we left early the next morning."
"Fantastic hotel! Our first night there was one other family in the hotel. The second night we were the only ones! The photos online are very accurate. Staff were very friendly and had lots of recommendations for restaurants for us. The hotel is a one minute walk to the town center. The only slight negative, which the hotel cannot control, were the church bells ringing from the nearby church, EVERY HOUR. Other than that, highly recommend. "
