Great stay at large house in private location

My daughter and I really enjoyed staying here - a very comfortable, large home in a nice private location outside of, but convenient to downtown Valdez. Really pleasant and relaxing living room, full kitchen, great laundry facilities, plenty of parking, comfortable beds - exactly what we were looking for.

Roomy but cozy

We had a wonderful stay in Valdez. The home had plenty of space for the 5 of us to spread out yet had a very cozy, homey feel. We enjoyed the den and outdoor spaces, especially the rasberry bushes. Conveniently located to the port as well as local hiking trails.

Relaxing home with blue jays

House was spacious warm, very clean. Had everything we needed. Beds were comfy, I wish the weather had been dryer I’d would have like to have a bonfire in the pit. Really beautiful home.

The hosts were both very welcoming, and quickly responded anytime we had a question. The property was in great shape, and was very easy to settle in. One thing that stood out to me is that in addition to providing the usual basic coffee supplies, they left all the non-perishable foods that previous guests left on check-out. It was really nice to not have to buy lots of supplies, where we only needed a small amount for the entire stay. It made me feel really good about leaving our 'extras' knowing that they could/would be available and used by future guests.

The house was larger than what the pictures show. The kitchen was fun to cook in. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The communication with the hosts was prompt and friendly. We would stay here again!

Perfect Vacation

The home was beautiful and well thought out. It was extremely clean and had a check in book with way more information than the internet did. The host wss beyond accomadating and communicative. Would be my first choice to stay when visiting Valdez

Very nice people to work with, and nice place to stay a few days while we explored the area. Accommodations are perfect for 4 adults and two children, with plenty of towels/washcloths and bedding. Very spacious home to stay in for 4 people. Mudroom helped keep wet outerwear away from the main living space. Kitchen was very well equipped and there was also a grill that came in handy. Washing machine and dryer were available for use. Hosts provided an excellent variety of reading material on what to do in Valdez. And they were very helpful via communications.We experienced a power outage while there due to an eagle, which we called the power company about and also spoke to the owners, One of the owners came by to check on us. Thank you! The outage was resolved within 3 hours. Since it was dinner, we decided to grill the fish and it tasted wonderful. The heaters are diesel so that was not an issue. Views were wonderful out the back bedroom window.We enjoyed kayaking at the Columbia Glacier, watching sea lions eat salmon and hiking the local trails. The Fat Mermaid was a yummy and fun place to eat. It's a great place to go fishing.

Lovely stopover in Valdez

We spent two nights here after several days of camping in Wrangell St. Elias and Glen Allen. This was a perfect place to recharge- the house was very comfortable, with everything we needed and plenty of space for our family of four to relax.The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and utensils. Bed & bath linens were lovely. Deanna kindly checked in after our first night, and made a couple of recommendations for the remainder of our time.We wished we could have stayed for longer!
