8/10 Good
"Hotel was in a great position in town and had a good sized room and bed . Our stay included breakfast but instead of a buffet breakfast at the hotel it was in the cafeteria next door attached to the hotel. It wasn't clear for a foreign traveller as to what we could have as it wasn't a buffet. A piece of paper with some clear choices would have been helpful. What we got was fine and adequate but the process detracted from the ambiance of the hotel."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Valdemaluque?
The best area to stay in Valdemaluque is the historic centre, particularly around the Plaza Mayor and the streets immediately surrounding it.This area is the heart of Valdemaluque, offering a blend of historic architecture and modern conveniences. The Plaza Mayor itself is a beautiful, arcaded square, superb for enjoying a coffee or an evening stroll. The narrow, pedestrian-friendly streets branching off it, such as Calle Real and Calle del Sol, are lined with traditional shops, tapas bars, and restaurants. It's a very walkable district, making it easy to explore on foot. For couples, staying in the historic centre provides a quintessential Valdemaluque experience. You'll be steps away from all the main attractions, including the Valdemaluque Cathedral and the Alcázar, and can easily enjoy romantic dinners at local eateries. The convenience of having everything within walking distance means more time for relaxation and sightseeing.Families will also find the historic centre appealing due to its central location and the abundance of amenities. The proximity to parks and the generally calm pace of life in the evenings makes it straightforward to manage children.
When is the best time to go to Valdemaluque?
While Valdemaluque offers a great experience year-round, the best time to visit is during the spring (April to June) or autumn (September to October) for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.Spring brings mild temperatures, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region, such as the trails around the Picos de Valdemaluque or the Río Duero riverbanks. The countryside is lush, and wildflowers are in bloom, offering fantastic photographic opportunities. It's a great time for couples who enjoy hiking and scenic drives without the intense summer heat.Autumn also provides comfortable temperatures, generally between 10°C and 20°C, and the landscapes transform with rich, warm colours as the leaves change, especially in the vineyards surrounding the villages. This season is superb for solo travellers interested in cultural experiences and local gastronomy, as it often coincides with grape harvests and local food festivals. You'll find many opportunities to sample regional wines and traditional dishes in a relaxed setting. The summer months (July and August) can be quite hot, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C, and this is also peak tourist season, particularly for Spanish families on holiday. While all the attractions are open, you'll encounter more people and potentially higher prices.
