"Great property; helpful and friendly owners; superb base for exploring the local area. The nearest town, Infiesto, is a 5-minute drive away with local well-stocked supermarket. We cooked most evenings using the wood barbecue in the private garden. There are good walks from the house and Oviedo, Gijon, Covadonga, etc. are within a 45 minute drive. We were a family group of 4 adults and 2 children and there was plenty of room for everyone. All-in-all, a fantastic place to spend a holiday!"

"Overall, we had a lovely stay at this beautiful, historic stone chalet in Carabanzo. The house had two beautiful bedrooms, one with a balcony. The thick stone walls kept the house nice and cool during the summer days. There were two bathrooms and the upstairs bathroom had a shower with good water pressure. There was a washing machine in the downstairs bathroom. We were able to park right in fron of the house on a brick-paved plaza, although the landlady advised us that in the rain the stone...

"Amenities not as described on website. No drinking glasses or tissues in the room, uncomfortable room temperature with no control, cheap uncomfortable mattress, had to make a long distance phone call just to get in the door to check in, unfriendly staff, front desk never staffed. “Not my problem, call Expedia.”"

"The host was very friendly, and all went smoothly for check-in and out. The house was clean and mostly well-maintained. The only real downside was the drive up to the house, which was a very narrow gravel road for about 1.5 miles. I would gladly stay again. "

We were able to park on one of the recommended streets each time we returned from a trip out... we were just a couple of minutes walk further away on the Saturday afternoon (in peak season)Just be aware there is no oven in the kitchen and just two cooking rings, but we managed fine and our daughter cooked us some great patatas bravas there. Two local shops have the basics, but worth a half hour drive to stock up once if you are preparing meals. We thoroughly enjoyed a range of activities on and around the reservoir with Ubuntu Aventuras. "

"Overall, we had a lovely stay at this beautiful, historic stone chalet in Carabanzo. The house had two beautiful bedrooms, one with a balcony. The thick stone walls kept the house nice and cool during the summer days. There were two bathrooms and the upstairs bathroom had a shower with good water pressure. There was a washing machine in the downstairs bathroom. We were able to park right in fron of the house on a brick-paved plaza, although the landlady advised us that in the rain the stone plaza can get slippery. Some cons of the stay were that the landlady only spoke Spanish and no one in our party speaks Spanish. The checkin process involved calling the landlady who would then meet us at the property with the key and show us the inside. We then gave her the 50 Euro cleaning fee in cash (she said cash or card at the end of the stay would have been fine but I opted to pay up front). Fortunatley, we had Spanish family who met us at the VRBO and were able to translate, otherwise it might have been a bit challenging to check-in. The kitchen had only the basics. A coffee machine, toaster, microwave and electric stove-top. A kettle would have been good. There was no basic provisions, like salt and pepper, tea bags, coffee, etc. And as we arrived late, we opted to make a trip into Oviedo for supplies. The other con was that on Wednesday morning (while we were asleep due to jet lag) there was a van selling fruit and veg broadcasting over a megaphone very loudly."
