  • Casa Romero is a newly restored 100 year old family home with original vigas and 20 inch thick adobe walls. This romantic, charming home is a beautiful, peaceful home that truly is a home away from home. Just a 15 minute drive to Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort, and 10 minutes to the Pecos Wilderness Trail Head, Carson National Forest. Taos, NM 20 miles away, and Santa Fe, merely an hour away.

    Our newly restored home has maintained its original charm with modern touches, such as hand-sanded hardwood floors, new upscale appliances, granite countertops, soaker tub w/jets, custom built shower, and reclining leather couches.

    Kitchen fully equipped, 6-burner gas stovetop, wall oven, microwave, dishwasher, opens to a private portal for outdoor eating, grilling and relaxation.

    Master bedroom with queen bed on main floor. Third bed is in upstairs loft. Has private outside entrance, large sitting area, queen bed, and 1/2 bath. The adjoining balcony provides an awesome view of the majestic Jicarita Peak and surrounding open fields.

    Washer/dryer, bed and bath linens provided.

    Come enjoy a peaceful, quiet weekend in the beautiful Penasco Valley.

We loved staying here! There was room for us to spread out and it was close enough to Taos and skiing areas. The only thing to mention is I wish there was a door unstead of a curtain to the main bathroom. Great stay, would book again.

We enjoyed our stay! The house was perfect and had everything we needed. The upstairs was great for our 3 college boys. We will definitely be back to visit. Great location to Sipapu. We also made the drive to Taos one evening and it was a nice drive from the house. Great host!!

Very beautiful home w great kitchen and nice appliances. Very clean and completly stocked with all you would need. Will come back and stay again. A little out of the way but close to Sipapu ski/ summer resort. About 30 minutes to Taos and hour to Santa Fe.

Perfect for our Ski Trip

Our family of six loved staying at this house! It was only a 15 minute drive to Sipapu ski resort, and the house had everything we needed for our stay. The little ones loved having their own bedroom (off the master bath and small, but perfect for them) and the older kids enjoyed the upper loft room and hangout area. The master bedroom was cozy and the jacuzzi and heated floor in the bathroom was awesome! The owners allowed us to check in early and were quick to respond to any questions we had. We will definitely stay here again!

Cozy and Well-Stocked!

We had a wonderful stay in Penasco. The cottage is cute, cozy, and has everything you need for a visit of any length. The kitchen is well stocked as are the bathrooms and laundry. Internet is fast if you need to do some work or school. Easy drive to Sipapu and hiking trails; Santa Fe and other attractions are about an hour or so away, but the drive is very scenic. Highly recommended!

Quiet Mountain Escape

This property was a great place for our small family of 2 grandparents, 2 parents, a young aduly and 2 grandchildren under the age of 4 to stay. There were a total of 5 adults and 2 kids. We brought our own hand soap and paper towels because in most places that stuff isn’t provided, but there was not only hand soap, but laundry detergent, and shampoo available. Check in was easy and when some stray puppies wandered into the property the owners were quick to respond. The view from the patio was beautiful every morning and the landscaping was immaculate. We definitely would consider staying here again.
