  • Come enjoy the sights, sounds and serenity of our fantastic getaway home nestled in a cedar forest on top of a water fall! Our Cottage at Firefly Falls has a great room with cathedral ceilings and massive stone fireplace, gracious cook’s kitchen, 1.5 baths, open loft for sleeping, and deck overlooking the waterfall. In combination, Firefly Cottage and Friefly Retreat make for a great option for gathering with others. We have keyless entry and security cameras overseeing entries and fiber optic broadband service. Our home provides a perfect getaway for artists, writers, nature lovers, sled heads, or for family gatherings (together with our Retreat), romantic getaways, and friends weekends.

The photos online doesn't do the cabin justice. The interior was large, updated and clean. By far the best VRBO property that we have ever rented. We are looking forward to another visit next year.

Absolutely beautiful and magical! We had SUCH a relaxing visit. The little ‘extras’ were so nice! We left a few of our own favorites for the next guests. Will definitely be back!

We rented both the Cottage on the falls and the Retreat next door. It was the perfect place to visit family and reconnect with each other and Nature. We will be back!

Amazing waterfall retreat

I surpised my husband with this trip. He loves being by water and waterfalls and this place did not disappoint. Listening to that water is so great, especially at night looking up at the stars. We had a great trip and Robin was very responsive with any questions. Would stay here again for sure.

Pleasant Retreat

This is such a relaxing place that this is our 3rd time coming. Fun Summer Tidbit - bring beach chairs and they stay perfectly on the flat rocks in the creek allowing the very cold but refreshing water cool off your feet while you read and relax. Heavenly

Beautiful location

The property and location were amazing and as described. Nine inches of snow hit the day before and the long drive/entryway was plowed which was great. A couple of minor issues were quickly addressed. Would definitely return if in the area again. The waterfall runs right along the expansive deck.

Waterfall weekend

Location of this cottage is amazing! The pictures of the waterfall do not capture how beautiful this place is. We loved wading and hiking up and down the creek. This cottage is very close to quite a few great NY State parks. House just as described in the listing, everything in good working order. Good information provided for checking in/out. We had a great time here. Easily one of the best places we have stayed with the kids.

Perfectly Relaxing Fairytale Vacation

It was lovely to stay at the Cottage on Firefly Falls! The cottage was an idyllic dream straight out of a fairytale! I loved lounging on the deck and reading for hours of relaxation! The hosts have thought of everything! Down to the littlest detail their home has all the conveniences you could need. I felt so comfortable and relaxed!

A Perfect Place

Everyone says the pictures don't do this place justice...they don't! It's a stunning, comfortable and exceptional retreat situated near one of the most beautiful pieces of land I've seen. You can feel the love Robin and her family have for the nature that surrounds in the little touches throughout the house, both in being eco friendly but also in the decor. My two sisters and I have never been happier together in this slice of paradise.

I stay at many rental places in the US. This is the BEST place I’ve stayed! The waterfall is beautiful and fun to explore. The house is massive (for the 3 of us). The kitchen blew me away with the extras! Everything anyone could possibly need was there. My favorite was the adorable “mouse house” door near the games. Loved the details! Wish I could live there for summer!!

We love Firefly!

This is our second stay at Firefly. It’s one of the prettiest homes we’ve stayed in anywhere. With a daughter at Colgate it’s a perfect getaway for her from the bustle of campus. Its natural beauty and warmth and comfort is incomparable. Robin is the perfect hostess leaving a very well appointed kitchen, goodies (like Halloween candy at Halloween) and festive tasteful seasonal touches. We hope to come back every year to this beautiful place.

Paradise Found!

This cottage FAR exceeded our expectations. It sits directly on the Falls with gorgeous views from every room, including from the double jacuzzi tub, which was amazing. We were so impressed with how generous the hosts are, making sure we had everything imaginable for a relaxing stay, from bathroom products to snacks and beverages in the kitchen. The cottage was beautifully decorated for the holidays, making our New Year's Eve stay feel very festive. The huge stone fireplace ads so much to the overall ambiance. The Sleep Number bed in the loft, overlooking the Falls was so comfortable with the sound of the river rocking you to sleep all night. We were SO relaxed and well rested! There are many restaurants, breweries, wineries and distilleries in the area, with live music, especially in the warmer seasons. We're so excited to return and really get to know the area better.

Serene getaway

Spectacular location! Sit on the deck and enjoy personal waterfall. With the landscape, shallow water area available to splash. Lovely home. Quick replies to inquiries by owner Robin. Thermostat was not working however Robin filled us in to use fireplace as the nights were chilly. Only negatives were kitchen sink stuck on spray mode and shower head needs to be updated. I can’t wait til next visit! Home is well equipped with all you need. Barter system of take 1/leave 1 is a great idea for drinks and snacks too!

Beautiful riverside cabin

This location combined with the Retreat next door is an amazing place for a group! While there are no bedrooms pre saw in the cottage, the loft has 1 full queen/ on bedposts, and 3 queen on floor in second peak (peak is short for 6’ tall adults & window doesn’t open) the loft has a slider to a small deck - super cute! And a half bath - convenient for mid night use 👍. The rest of the cottage is beautiful- lots of room and large table, kitchen is nicely packed with whatever you need. The shower head needs to be updated but the bathroom is huge on main level - whirlpool tub inside (we thought there was a hot tub, but no). The decking is a little soft, but large and lets you feel like you’re right in the river. A great location - easy drive to everything. Oh and there is a little fairy door by the kitchen - adorable! If we ever go back to this location we will for sure try to rent again here!
