Busta House Hotel

Busta House Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"★★★★★ Busta House was one of the absolute highlights of our time in Shetland. We stayed in the Noss Room, and from the moment we arrived, it felt like we had landed somewhere genuinely special. The house itself is beautiful—historic, full of character and atmosphere, and exactly the sort of place you hope to find when travelling somewhere like Shetland. It doesn’t feel manufactured or overly polished; it feels authentic, warm and wonderfully connected to the place and its history. The grounds are beautiful as well. We loved having the freedom to simply step outside and wander, stroll around the property and explore. There is something pretty wonderful about being able to start or end your day with a walk around the grounds, taking in the landscape and the quiet of Shetland without having to go anywhere at all. And the location was absolutely perfect for us. We wanted to experience every aspect of Shetland, rather than stay in one area, and Busta House gave us an ideal base from which to do exactly that. We explored coastlines, beaches and cliffs, went searching for wildlife, travelled through tiny communities and headed as far north as Yell and Unst. We covered an extraordinary amount of Shetland during our stay, and Busta always felt perfectly positioned in the middle of our adventures. After long days of windswept coastlines, wildlife, tiny roads and Shetland adventures, coming back to Busta felt like coming home. We loved settling in, having a drink, talking about eve"

"Not the fanciest hotel BUT great location and the room was large, clean, comfortable and priced right! Couldn’t ask for more. Parking easy. Dinner was great. Breakfast was wonderful - what a way to start the day exploring Shetland. Ate one night at Frankie’s fish seafood - it was great. Make sure to make reservation if you want to eat at restaurant otherwise it will be take a way. Staff at hotel were great. I would stay here again."

NEW Luxury Group Sea View Stay; Spacious, Garden

10/10 Excellent
"Booking the property was very easy and the VRBO posting accurately reflected our experience there. This property is beautiful and peaceful...even the drive to the location is very scenic. The location is amazing, on the water the views are great. The property was immaculate, had everything we needed for our family of 10 adults. The property is very nicely decorated. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. The host promptly responded to any questions. What was amazing that I have not seen from other VRBO rentals was the comprehensive online guest guide that not only told you all the things to see in the area but also how to work the kitchen appliances...everything you need to know about the property was documented in the online guest guide. If you are planning a visit to the Shetlands, I would highly recommending staying here. We were very fortunate during our stay as we did not experience any rain until our last day...it was windy but no rain."

What is the best area to stay in Urafirth?
The best area to stay in Urafirth is within the main village itself, particularly around the waterfront and the roads leading up from the harbour.Urafirth village is quite compact, with most amenities and places to stay clustered along the main road that runs parallel to the shore and the lanes that branch off towards the hills. You'll find a few local shops, a pub, and places to eat, all within easy walking distance. The harbour area is a focal point, offering views of the water and boats.Couples looking for a relaxing escape will find the village centre appealing. It offers a peaceful setting with convenient access to local eateries and scenic walks along the coastline. You can enjoy strolls by the water or explore the nearby hills, returning to a comfortable base with everything you need close at hand. For families, staying in or very close to the village centre is also a great option.
