September 2016 Schiestlhaus, Hochschwab, Styria, Austria Morning view south from Hochschwab summit (alt. 2.227 meters) in the middle of Hochschwab mountain range. It is the most northern part of Alps which rises over 2.000 meters of altitude. There are basically no lifts in the Hochschwab, so you can enjoy it in its natural state. In September the weather is quite stable (although quite windy and freezing in the morning in the top parts) and only few tourists which get such rewarding views for the pain of hiking it by own feet. There is nice mountain hut called Schiestlhaus only 70 alt. meters below the Hochschwab summit, so you can get to the top both for the sunset or sunrise.
This little, incredible green and blue lake which is hidden in Upper Styria got famous by Ashton Kutcher who posted pictures of it last year! Even though tourists come in thousands each day now, it is still an idyllic place and you can even dive there and the water level chances constantly. #WeekendGetaway #Waterlust

August 2011 Schladminger Tauern On the path from Klaferkessel to Preinthallerhuette (alt. 1.656 m) in the Schladminger Tauern in Upper Austria. Granite peaks are prominent over green cow pastures and meadows with beautiful colourful flowers. The highest peak of this part of Schladminger Tauern is the Hochwildstelle with altitude of 2.747 metres (peak on the left).
