Pretty good and sufficient

If you made reservation and paid just $5 for one person for one night it's quite OK. Problem was a smelly air conditioner, practically non flowing water, moldy bath, and Internet connection, its chapter for itself - better will be, when I will not write about it. Surely you are not on Bali to stay in the hotel room. So, 3 stars and good feel from saved money.

部屋の清潔感は値段相応のだと感じましたが快適に過ごせました。ホットシャワーが使えず毎日修理をお願いしましたが、対応してもらえませんでした。部屋の掃除は快く対応してもらえました。

安くて近くに食べる所もあり、便利です。ただフリーWi-Fiが入りません。それが困りました。部屋はとてもきれいでした。アメニティグッズがもう少し揃っていれば良いかなと思います。

I stayed here in Oct 2014 and was a little surprised to find what looked like a building in mid-renovation. I arrived at the same time as another guest, and we could have been the only two staying in the whole building. I was annoyed then that the manager escorted us to adjacent hotel rooms - why not separate us if there's no one else around? The hotel room was shabby, and the bathroom really not pleasant. If they were renovating we can hope that it's nicer now. Also, the location is seemingly in an industrialised area. You'd need to travel for sure to get anywhere pleasant. Nothing within walking distance.

No fecies, but mold

So, our stay here was nice for the most part. There was no fecal odor as indicated by a previous reviewer, but definitely a strong scent of mold. Having live in Indonesia long enough, this is likely due to not airing out the rooms adequately in between guests. You get used to it after a while, but definitely not ideal.

cheap for a few nites only

The price was great and the hotel good. No internet but plenty of cafés around. Staff was nice with very limited English. Only a few rooms (6).better for younger travelers.

The smell of Mold and Feces was overwhelming.

It was awful. The location was terrible. It took 30 minutes+ by taxi to get to anywhere. The entire room smelled of mold and feces. The place was not clean at all. The bathroom was extremely dirty. There was no breakfast given, and no kitchen to make my own breakfast. The Wi-Fi didn't work, luckily I was able to use the Wi-Fi of a hotel down the street. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Perfect and cheap

This hotel was perfect, so cheap and had all the basic essentials, the young man who manned the office was a delight and very helpful. I can recommend staying here if you are after cheap accommodation everything is close by and you get a really wonderful Bali experience.

A great stay in Ungasan

Guys, just one word! Friendly. You will not regreat it + get to meet locals as it is a young family that will welcome you with they now famous son Dédé. The guest house itself is not exceptional but extremelly well located and in the center of everything if you have a motorbike. Sweet deal, highly recommend it !

REAL VALUE FOR THE PRICE

Very comfy, homey, quiet and made a mistake of not staying longer. The secluded courtyard and the path/driveway leading to the rooms reminded me of Japan and its really nice. The caretakers; a young couple with a small son was very pleasant, helpful and accommodating. They called for us taxis, very polite and always had smiles on their faces. It is not a hotel but more of a guesthouse with unexpected facilities. They had a bathtub and the toilet is big. The rooms were reasonably big with comfy bed, and AC. Its not a place for people who likes big, nice shops nearby but more for those who go for simplicity, comfort, quiet time. No clubs nearby and the main road is a very busy road. Very close to local eateries, a 24 hour very-mini convenience store and grocery store. Food is easy if your not fussy. Its truly value for money esp for those on a tight budget. Nice hotels are coming up close by and they look expensive. Experience The Hill Ungasan now to experience the simple Indonesian/Balinese life within a simple neighbourhood(for now)! its not near the seaside and not near Kuta or any big malls. Stay for a night or two before continuing your holiday in ever busy and jammed Kuta. You get the chance to experience 2 vastly different lifestyle in Bali.
