Scenic Hotel Punakaiki

"The Oceanview Deluxe suite upstairs was a spacious room with dressing room, bathroom, kitchenette and a lovely balcony. It had an incredible view of the Tasman Sea which also overlooked rainforest. You can walk from your room to the restaurant as it has a walking tunnel which goes under the road. The sunsets at night were stunning. The bed was comfortable with ample bedding and pillows. Even in winter, the room was very warm with just one panel heater. We had to turn it off the second night as it was too hot, even on low. The bathroom was large with good sized shower. All the staff were very friendly. Restaurant meals were delicious, although some main dishes were on the small side for the price. Overall a lovely place to stay with the Pancake Rocks and Blowholes just a short walk up the road. If you take your car, there is a carpark, but you have to pay."

"What a wonderful little cottage to spend some time in. Everything was beautifully presented in a lovingly designed space, you can tell they have put a lot of thought into this place. Booking, communication and check in was fast and friendly. Location is perfect, with a stunning outlook to the North and the lighthouse walks very close by. The local pub is down the road if you don't feel like cooking. We wished we could have stayed longer, but we will be back! Thank you so much."

"Out by the Bay has everything you need for your stay, whether quiet and relaxing, on the move adventuring or wet and sandy on the beach! We’ve stayed many places but this was our favourite and we wished we had booked it longer. The location is great, the bed is comfortable, and the shower is amazing!"

"Located at the end of Tauranga Bay is a secluded beach cottage paradise. Our hosts, Sandra and Doc, greeted us with open arms and helped carry our luggage to our private, modern-equipped cottage. The place was extremely clean and neat and furnished with modern appliances, bathroom fixtures, and comfortable furnishings. Breakfast each morning was plentiful- the espresso coffee, fruits, cheese, eggs, toasts, and tasty granola were plentiful to keep us nourished throughout the day. Sandra and Doc are wonderful hosts with a wealth of knowledge about the surrounding area and are so willing to research places for more detail. An overall great place to relax for a few days and enjoy Westport. "
