Welcome to Landhaus Möhlend in Waase on Ummanz, Rügen’s small sister island! Landhaus Möhlend spans two floors and offers approximately 80 m² of space for up to 6 guests. A highlight is the large garden, which invites you to relax and unwind and is ideal for your four-legged friend, as dogs are very welcome at Landhaus Möhlend.
Waase is a picturesque village on the island of Ummanz, which lies west of Rügen and is connected to the main island by a bridge near Waase. This unique location makes the small village the “gateway” to the island of Ummanz. Even as you cross the bridge, you can feel the tranquility and vastness that characterise this region. Waase itself is characterised by traditional brick houses, thatched roofs, and lovingly tended gardens.
The centre of the village is the imposing 14th-century Gothic brick church of St. Mary, known for its artistically carved winged altarpiece. From here, you can enjoy sweeping views across the flat marsh landscape, characterised by meadows, fields, and Bodden waters. The surrounding area is a paradise for nature lovers, cyclists, and birdwatchers: thousands of cranes stop here to rest, especially in the spring and fall.
Waase is not only a place to slow down, but—thanks to its proximity to the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft National Park—it also offers a variety of opportunities to explore a unique coastal landscape. Visitors will find both relaxation and inspiration in Waase—a place to take a deep breath and linger.
