Customer service was terrible, door on my suite didn’t lock for the first two days, restaurant food was not good and at times wasn’t even open due to lack of staffing. The staff did not clean my room very well. Even have pictures of bugs in the tub just after they had supposedly cleaned the suite.

My expectations aren’t high for a mid priced hotel in Bali. But it is mid priced, not hostel priced, yet the service felt hostel level, as if no worker has actually received training to work at a hotel. Broken door lock, broken safety box, two shower heads with leaks making them unusable and not fixed for 48 hours despite multiple requests, dirty dishes left in sink and not replaced after room cleaning, etc. For the shower head problem, I got frustrated on third request what with the grime of long flight and streets building up.. the staff at hand got nervous even though I wasn’t yelling. He offered an empty room for shower use—why not just move us completely? This is why I think the problems we faced here are due to a lack of industry know how. The price should just be on a 1-2 star hotel level for the region, that is where they are at in truth.
So the pictures of a hotel and suites overlooking the rice patties are a huge scam. There is a massive construction project happening in the area that our room was overlooking. Construction workers are working 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Everything from steelworkers grinding and welding away, to brick workers running their cements mixers and gravel trucks, to bulldozers and ground moving equipment digging and working non stop.
There is no manager at this property and when requested was always informed he is at another property and might come in again in a day or 2. In the 5 days we stayed there I did not get to see the manager once. He is obviously staying away as he does not want to deal with customers asking questions. When I questions the general staff about the construction and the failure of the hotel to warn us before arrival i was simple told our booking is non refundable and that the hotel has not had the chance to change the marketing pictures.
Breakfast service is slow and pretty much non existent. If you are lucky enough to receive it is is pretty much 2 eggs, 1 piece of toast, 1 small mushroom and one slice of tomato. The problem is although you give your order the day before, it is never ready on time and the service is absolutely pathetic. We will receive our eggs and when we ask about the toast we it will only be delivered 35 minutes later, they dont care if you eat a cold breakfast here.
Rooms are large, staff are very attentive, breakfast was good and you could vary your choice, the shuttle is very useful and free at certain time. The hotel orgainsed a driver for us to have a day trip.
All you need for your accommodation while in Ubud. Aircon, WiFi, Excellent TV channels, hot water, spacious rooms, basic breakfast and bottled water included! Also can arrange motorcycles and tours etc. Staff are exceptional! Got hooked on the pizzas! Location is good as it right in the crazy Ubud centre - too loud and too many people there!
This is a great hotel food this price. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great, make to order breakfast. We stayed at this hotel before heading to the beach and loved it for the price we paid.
small friendly hotel, offering a free shuttle into town and pick up service and always willing to go a little out of the way personally as well as to drop off in Ubud, not just at the Palace.
beautiful property within 20 minutes to town with a flexible free shuttle. Great pool and rooms are huge and have soft fluffy towels and comfy beds and linens
Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel clean and very comfortable. Only eight rooms so we had the pool to ourselves. Every night we came home to our room with a lovely saying on our bed and a little extra clean. High enough in the mountains to be away from the town noises but close enough for easy access. Would definitely stay again.

Gita Maha is great value for money. It has large, comfortable rooms. Furniture is simple but functional. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It's a bit outside town, and you'll need a moped to get to the center of Ubud. I found Gita Maha to be a good base to explore the area, including the volcanoes and waterfalls in the north. Recommended for a budget stay.
It was amazing! I would stay there again & again. Cuddle (nickname) was so accommodating & a complete joy to work with. He was able to assist me with all of my needs.
We enjoyed the large room. The grounds and the pool were lovely. The staff was very nice and helpful. The only disappointment was the food. It was not good. The hotel is 10 minutes or so into town and there is really nothing around.
Was welcomed with fresh juice and friendly service. Situated in a lovely serene village, surrounded by rice fields, luscious terrain and only 5 minute drive to Ubud Central. Rooms were like premier room,s with large bathroom, hallway entrance and dining area and balcony/terrace. Very comfortable bed with cotton linen. WIFI (free), Mini bar, tea/coffee facilities, air conditioning. Rooms were cleaned each day and spotless. Fantastic wireless connection, free shuttle to Ubud central. I hired a scooter for AUD $5/day. Very friendly staff who were always open to help in anyway.

Peaceful location but a little short on facilities
Unfortunately the kitchen staff had resigned prior to my arrival meaning that only breakfast was available in the restaurant.
The rooms have no telephone, no satellite television and no hair dryer.
However the pool was always clean and the staff were always pleasant and helpful.
The location was great and very quiet.
At first we were very impressed with the property and vibe of the place. However, after spending a few minutes in our room we discovered mold. The initial odor of the room suggested that there was mold present. After spending a few minutes in the room we found the mold. We kindly asked to be moved and they didn't mind. Unfortunately, the change didn't make a difference because this room also smelled like mold. We think it was just the lower level rooms that smell and the upstair units are fine! With that said, the staff overall were nice and everything else seemed to be well kept.
The staff were ever so pleasing. But should inform people that their is a tour man Mr Md across the road for any tours you wonted booked and he is ever so lovely. Because the hotel only serves breakfast found it annoying going into town each time to eat lunch and dinner. But did discover a restaurant called Firefly about a 10min walk which was wonderful.they serve lunch and dinner. Found an ashram to do yoga and meditation a five minute walk from the hotel.
Dispite the location being out of town we discovered the above by going for a walk and everyday was full of surprises.
We will definitely be going back.
Enjoy
We really liked this hotel - super friendly staff, delicious breakfast, lovely pool. We stayed in the downstairs room, closest to the pool, which was great - would recommend asking for that room. The hotel also has free shuttle buses running at regular times during the day and night to drop you off and collect you from central Ubud.
